People's Park is located in the center of Jingjiang City. It was built in 1917. At that time, the Tonghai allied forces guarded Jingjiang and used Chongsheng temple to build gardens. For this reason, we hired gardeners to plant flowers and grass, piled mountains and built pavilions, which began to take on the landscape style and was called "public garden". So many people still call it the public garden. After liberation, it was renamed people's Park. It has experienced many changes. In 2002, on the basis of improving the landscape bonsai Park, the people's Park renovated the west gate of the park, with a total investment of 3.5 million yuan.

The new construction project of the west gate consists of eight parts, namely the gate, square road, gatehouse, window enclosure, complex building, greening, etc., covering an area of more than 1000 square meters and a construction area of 5000 square meters. It has a new look and various supporting facilities. It has created its own characteristics. It is famous for its orchids and landscape bonsai, and is famous at home and abroad.

The main park of people's Park has a high admission rate and utilization rate, with an average of 3500 people entering the park every day, and about 20000 people entering the park every day on holidays. It is already in an oversaturated state, and is one of the most crowded leisure and entertainment places in Central Jiangsu.

There are Linqing bridge (ancient stone arch bridge), Sanqu bridge (built in 1977), Guanyuan bridge (built in 1964), Erqu bridge and nameless bridge in the people's Park. There are also pavilions, platforms, buildings, pavilions, corridors and benches. The famous pavilions are lotus hall, osmanthus hall, plum blossom hall, Shuxiao Pavilion and Yuantiao Pavilion. Plum blossom hall has a long history. It was built in 1838 and has been more than 160 years.

The modern entertainment park covers an area of more than 10 mu, with a dance floor alternately used by the dance ground and the roller skating rink; large children's playground, bumper car and other parks. The water area is 20 mu, and water boating and other projects have been developed. The main ways to keep fit in the garden are fan dance, Mulan Boxing, Taijiquan, playing ball and singing. Morning exercise places are mainly in the cement field, the square between Guimei hall and Zhuyuan forest.

The people's Park along the river is made of stone, which stands beside the water in an artistic and changeable manner for visitors to have a rest. The orchids cultivated in the people's Park have a great influence in China. Since 1987, they have won many awards in large-scale orchid exhibitions and expositions held in China. In 1987, the orchid "Xie peimei" won the "excellent exhibits Award" of the first China Flower Expo. In 1994, the orchid "spring Yipin" won the gold medal at the national orchid Expo in Chengdu, Sichuan, the silver medal at the Kunming Expo in 1999, and the bronze medal at the Jiangsu orchid Horticultural Expo in 2001. According to incomplete statistics, from 1987 to 2001, Jingjiang orchid won 34 awards in national or provincial competitions, including 6 gold awards, 11 silver awards, 5 Bronze awards, 1 special award and 2 third prizes, 6 excellent awards and 3 other awards. Most of the famous orchids cultivated in Jingjiang are famous all over the country, with noble and excellent quality. Many varieties are valuable.
