Guanyin Temple in Shoushan
Guanyin village, Guanyin Township, is located in the middle of Taoyuan coastline. It has been developed for a long time with the neighboring Xinwu township. There are Ganquan temple, shiguanyin, Baisha Cape Lighthouse and other places of interest. Although it lives in a corner of the sea, it is quite famous. Commonly known as Lingding guanyinma temple, it has been listed as a third-class historic site in Taiwan Province. It worships Guanyin Bodhisattva, and the incense is very prosperous! The newly-built garden in front of the temple, the fountain, the pavilion and the arch bridge, are more solemn and beautiful, with Shoushan Yan Park in the back. The cool wind is everywhere, and there are pavilions and barbecue areas. It is a good place to visit.
Historical customs
Ganquan temple was originally named Guanyin temple. During the reign of Emperor Guangxu, a spring suddenly appeared beside the temple. The spring water was sweet and clear. It was said that it could cure all kinds of diseases. The villagers competed to get water and drink here. Therefore, the name of Guanyin temple was changed to Ganquan temple. The villagers set up a Ganquan well where the spring water came out and built a pavilion to worship the statue of Guanyin. Since then, the miracles spread far away and the temple has been renovated continuously, which has become today's grand scale for a long time The belief center of the local people.
From Ganquan temple to the seaside, you can see the white round Baisha Cape Lighthouse rising from the ground. The lighthouse was completed in 1901. It is 36.6 meters high and made of brick. It is the second tallest lighthouse in Taiwan. Tower towering towering in a green field, if you climb up the ladder, the scenery of the four fields is at present.
Walking from Ganquan temple to the seashore, you can see a giant statue of Guanyin standing at the bottom of Zhongxing Road, which is more than 20 meters high. The giant statue imitates the appearance of Guanyin statue in Keelung Zhongzheng Park, showing kindness and caring for the paradise under your feet.
