The full name of the company is Sanya Xiaoyu Hot Spring Industrial Co., Ltd., now renamed as "rural hot spring". Built in 2003, it is located in Shangyi and Xiayi villages of Shuijiao District, Fenghuang Town, Sanya City. It is about 15 minutes' drive from Sanya City.

Rural hot spring occupies 81 mu of collective land of villagers. It is an enterprise wholly invested by local villagers. It is also the only township enterprise in the province that has won the honorary title of "national top 100 demonstration enterprises of new rural construction".

In 1992, a company failed to develop a hot spring in Shuijiao village, which resulted in the fact that the nearby land had water and could not be farmed. The leading group of Shangyi village and Xiayi village and the villagers' representatives have discussed for many times, and finally decided to "gather the funds of small individual villagers, create a large brand township enterprise", and collectively develop agricultural leisure projects: make full use of hot spring water, develop hot spring tourism projects, store warm water in hot spring pool to reduce the water temperature, and then discharge it to irrigate farmland. This idea points out a broad road for the future development of Shuijiao village, and has been recognized and highly appreciated by the leaders of the town.

When the villagers heard the news that they were going to set up their own enterprises and develop hot springs, they were all overjoyed. However, because of the financial difficulties at that time, Xiaoyu hot spring could only develop 24 mu of land, and only 29 villagers had shares. More than two years later, under the background of building a new socialist countryside and with the strong support of leaders at all levels of the town, Xiaoyu hot spring, a farmer enterprise that has been operating for more than two years, is leading the villagers to move forward to the new socialist countryside. With the emergence of more and more fish therapy projects, the company officially changed its name from "Sanya Xiaoyu hot spring" to "Sanya rural hot spring".

Compared with a few years ago, today's rural hot spring has undergone earth shaking changes. In the past, the rotten mud pond has become a holiday paradise for tourists to linger on; from a small scenic spot of 24 mu in the past, it has been expanded to a "national top ten characteristic hot spring scenic spot" with an area of 81 mu; the number of villagers has increased from 29 to 187; now the total investment is more than 23 million yuan; It has solved the employment problem of 127 idle labor force in the village, accounting for 40% of the total number of employees of the company; it receives nearly 300000 domestic and foreign tourists annually; there are 35 domestic and foreign franchised enterprises in Tianjin, Jinan, Chongqing, Anhui, Yanji, South Korea, etc. (there are 7 franchised enterprises in South Korea alone); the annual total output value is nearly 21 million yuan.
