Yuantong Bridge

Yuantong bridge is a cable-stayed bridge on Luxi, Nanbao Township, Qionglai County, Chengdu City, Sichuan Province. It is built on a 93 meter deep cliff, about 100 meters long and about 3 meters wide, and can only be used for walking.

The construction materials of Yuantong bridge are steel cable, concrete and timber.

Before the construction, it was very hard for the villagers on the other side of the river (ganshanzi) to cross the river. So a lot of people enthusiastically donated money to build the bridge.

Now the bridge is no longer the only way. Ganshanzi has been connected to the highway, and there is a stone arch bridge under the Yuantong bridge that can be passed by cars.
