Main attractions
The tomb of Jiang Mu Wang Caiyu is built in the forest of green mountains, and the tomb path of Jiang Mu is very grand. It includes "stone archway", "lower car Pavilion", "Tomb house", "octagonal pavilion", "Tomb" and "pebble road". "Stone archway" has three door openings, and the middle door is engraved with "Tomb path of mother Jiang". Left and right side doors. From here to the tomb, it is collectively referred to as "the tomb path of Jiang Mu".
Among them, the stone archway is located at the entrance of the tomb path, with four pillars and three gates, including the middle gate, the left gate and the right gate (the middle gate is 3.7 meters wide, and the left gate and the right gate are 2.1 meters wide respectively). There are Taoist reliefs of flowers, he He Xian and Shou Xing on the square pillars. The inscription "Tomb road of Jiang's mother" is written by Sun Yat Sen. From a distance, it looks like a Taoist hat or an ancient scholar's scarf hat, which is used for rest. Along the way, pines and cypresses are planted on both sides, tall and straight, magnificent. When Chiang Kai Shek and his sons and grandchildren came to worship, they all walked to the cemetery in the underground sedan chair. Chiang's heirs and friends followed suit to show their respect. Over time, the local people called the pavilion "Xiajiao Pavilion". The check-in booth is a new one, with cornices and corners. On the pavilion is a four character plaque inscribed by sun Yiqing, President of the Chinese poetry society. Li Zongren wrote the couplet of "weizitong Guan Yong style, Shude Hou FOK enjoy reverie age" hanging on both sides. The octagonal pavilion, also known as Xiaozi Pavilion, was built by Chiang Kai Shek in the middle of the long graveway in consideration of the difficulties of Xiaojiao's mother's journey. The purpose was to let her mother's soul rest and fulfill her filial piety. The villagers are used to "filial Pavilion".
Ci'an was first built in 1923, the 60th birthday of Jiang's mother. It is located between the mounds about 160 meters away from the cemetery. There are three new style houses (five main houses and six attached houses after reconstruction in 1930). It is the place where Chiang Kai Shek often lives when he sweeps the tomb. Chiang Kai Shek said that he would like to live next to his mother's tomb all his life, so he chose to live here every time he went back to Xikou to show that he would not forget his mother's kindness and guard the cemetery. This place is also named Ci'an (Tomb Village or tomb house) in memory of my mother. The two bedroom suite on the left side of Ci'an is where Chiang Kai Shek went back to his hometown to visit his grave or go to the field for rest. After the Xi'an Incident, he lived here for more than 110 days, the longest time. He also lived here for a long time after he went to the field for the third time in 1949. The two guest rooms on the right are for entertaining relatives and friends. The attached room is where the tomb watchers live and cook. There is a portrait of Wang Caiyu hanging in the middle hall of the main room. The two walls are inlaid with the text of crying mother written by Chiang Kai Shek and the text of consoling commander-in-chief written by the central executive committee of the Chinese Kuomintang. Crying for his mother expresses Chiang Kai Shek's deep feelings for his mother Wang Caiyu, and also reveals the inner story of brother discord and family conflicts. On the other hand, the article of consolation to commander-in-chief Chiang Kai Shek reflected the internal intrigue among the new warlords of the Kuomintang and Chiang Kai Shek's role in the struggle. On the central side of the stele, Sun Yat Sen's handwritten "memorial to Madame Chiang Kai Shek" is engraved, recording the relationship between Sun Yat Sen and Chiang Kai Shek, and Sun Yat Sen's high praise of Chiang's mother; on the Yin side of the stele, a brief introduction to Madame Wang describes Wang Caiyu's life and Chiang Kai Shek's naughty childhood. In addition to the commemorative significance, the monument in the center is like the screen wall in the courtyard, which blocks the space and shields the main hall, and increases the sense of hierarchy and momentum of the building.
After going out of Ci'an and climbing hundreds of steps, we can reach the tomb of Jiang's mother. It is said that in order to choose a suitable cemetery, Chiang Kai Shek spared no effort to recruit famous Fengshui men from Shanghai, Jiangxi, Guangdong and other places to Xikou to choose a place, and finally chose yulin'ao on Baiyan mountain. A bird's-eye view of Wuling shows that the whole peak of yulin'ao is like Maitreya's meditation; looking up from the "Maitreya's belly", the mountain'ao in the East looks like the champion Lama; looking down, there are three villages in Xikou town with smoke curling. With the development of society and economy, the countryside has become a whole, and the gas stove has replaced the firewood stove. Since then, the smoke has been cut off, which has become a permanent regret. More coincidentally, this place is far away from Chiang Kai Shek's father's cemetery, which not only meets the needs of another burial behind Chiang Kai Shek's mother The last wish of Chiang Kai Shek can also put an end to Chiang Kai Shek's fear of his mother's loneliness.
building structure
At the entrance of the passage stands a stone tablet square with three gateways. On the middle gate is engraved the four characters "Tomb road of mother Jiang". The square pillars are embossed with flowers, gods of harmony and longevity. The ancient pines on both sides are towering. After passing the pavilion, the mountain road becomes steeper. The sedan chair and horse can't go up, so they have to climb up. The tomb is inscribed "Ci'an" on the forehead. In the middle hall of the main room, there is a statue of Chiang Kai Shek's mother Wang Caiyu. There are four stone tablets, one in the middle of which is engraved with Sun Yat Sen's handwritten "letter to Madame Chiang Kai Shek". The story of Chiang's mother is printed in the Yin of the tablet. The two walls are embedded with "Weeping mother" written by Chiang Kai Shek and "consolation to commander-in-chief" by the central executive committee of the Kuomintang. The tombstone is written by Sun Yat Sen. the fan-shaped column on the top of the tombstone is engraved with the four characters "fan foot style". It is Chiang Kai Shek's idea that his mother is a model of his mother's image. On both sides of the stone lions are opposite each other. On the left and right "bietouzhu", a couplet written by Chiang Kai Shek is engraved. The first couplet reads "it's too late to be stubborn and repentant that day" and the second couplet reads "I'm ashamed of being a rebellious son, and I've been bitter and resentful all my life". There is a sacrificial terrace in front of the tomb, with a relief stone slab inlaid with "Phoenix green bamboo" in the middle of the worship platform.
