Qianshan City Museum (wanguangyuan) is located at No.28, wanguangyuan Road, Meicheng Town, Qianshan City, Anhui Province. The museum was built on September 15, 1983, covering an area of 35000 square meters and a building area of 6000 square meters. Qianshan City Museum is a comprehensive geological museum and a national third-class Museum.

Qianshan Museum has nearly ten thousand specimens of cultural relics, including nearly one thousand precious cultural relics. Among them, fossils of paleontology, jade, stone and pottery of xuejiagang culture, lacquered bamboo and wood ware from the spring and Autumn period to the Western Han Dynasty, and bronze ware are the most distinctive, many of which can be called the best in the country.

Qianshan museum is a national "AAAA" tourist attraction, provincial and municipal patriotism education base, national defense education base, social science knowledge popularization base, National College Students' cultural quality education base and ancient Anhui cultural practice base.

Historical evolution

In September 1980, the people's Government of Qianshan County set up the Qianshan County Cultural Relics Management Office, which is located in the cultural center building of Qianshan County, with a cultural relics storehouse.

On September 15, 1983, Qianshan County Museum was officially established.

On October 26, 1984, Qianshan County government selected the new site of the museum at No. 28, wanguangyuan Road, Zhangfa mountain, Meicheng Town, covering an area of 29000 square meters.

On June 24, 1986, Anhui Provincial Bureau of cultural relics appropriated a special fund of 160000 yuan to build the museum, breaking ground in 1986. In October 1987, Qianshan County Museum was completed and opened to the public.

In December 2006, Qianshan museum was approved as a national AAA scenic spot by the national tourism scenic spot quality rating committee, and awarded the brand.

On March 26, 2008, Qianshan museum was open to the public for free.

In May 2009, Qianshan museum was approved as a national third-class Museum by the State Administration of cultural relics, and awarded a license.

In 2012, 15 mu of land was acquired for the construction of Zhang Henshui cemetery and Zhang Henshui Memorial.

On July 18, 2014, Zhang Henshui cemetery and Zhang Henshui memorial hall were completed and opened to the public.

In December 2017, it was approved as a national AAAA tourist attraction by the national tourist attraction quality rating committee.

Venue features

The site of Qianshan museum is close to mountains and rivers. It is mainly supported by Taiping tower, a national key cultural relic protection unit in the Northern Song Dynasty. It integrates gardens and museums, and integrates sightseeing and rest. It is an important publicity window of Qianshan and one of the must visit scenic spots of Tianzhu Mountain.

Cultural Activity

On August 10, 2015, famous director Hu Mei, producer Hao Yaning and other members of the production team came to the exhibition room of Cheng Changgeng in Qianshan County Museum to investigate the situation of Cheng Changgeng, the originator of Peking Opera, and Hui troupe in Beijing.

On January 28, 2016, Qianshan County Museum held a winter fire drill.

On August 25, 2016, Qianshan Museum and Yujing town actively carried out the "warm star, you and I walk together" micro wish claim activity.

On November 24, 2016, Qianshan County Museum, Zhang Henshui Memorial Hall and Wanghe town cultural station jointly organized the activities of sending exhibitions to the countryside, entering the campus and benefiting the people.

On December 23, 2016, anti Japanese general Cai tingkai and descendants of general Su Zuxin visited Qianshan County Museum.

Free admission

According to the Management Committee of Tianzhu Mountain, after wanguangyuan scenic spot (Qianshan Museum) is restored to operation, it will be free of admission for medical staff in the whole country until December 31, 2020.
