It is said that it is the authentic work of Lu Yu, the tea sage of Tang Dynasty, who made tea when he was young. Because Lu Yu was once worshipped as Prince literature, he was later called literature spring. According to Tianmen county annals, this spring was dug by Zhidun, an eminent monk of Jin Dynasty, which has been more than 1600 years. After several annihilations, it lost its place. It was not until 1768, the 23rd year of the reign of Emperor Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty, when the weather was dry, that a broken stele was excavated in the lotus pond, with the words "Zhigong" and "Wenxue" written on it, and a gurgling spring was found under it. Therefore, local officials restored the well spring, built pavilions and steles beside it, and restored the famous place.
Since the publication of the book of tea, the famous tea making spring in Lu Yu's hometown, the literary spring, has become famous all over the world. Qi Ji, a poet monk of the Tang Dynasty, made a special trip to Tianmen, read Lu Zi's biography and wrote poems. Chen Dawen, a famous figure in the Qing Dynasty, also went here several times to pay homage to the relics of Lu Yu. Lu Yuting's literary spring, the stone tablet of "tea tasting" and the small statue tablet of Lu Yu were all carved by Chen Dawen.

Lu Yu, the classic of tea and literary spring are famous not only in China, but also abroad. The custom of drinking tea in China was introduced into Japan. After absorption and reform, Japan respected it as a tea ceremony. Moreover, the way of drinking tea was very exquisite, especially sincere in spirit. In the Song Dynasty, Rongxi, a famous Japanese monk, came to China and devoted himself to the study of the tea Sutra. After returning to Japan in 1168 A.D., Rongxi combined the tea classic with the historical experience of Japanese people in tea drinking, and compiled the book of eating tea and keeping in good health, which was highly praised by the Japanese people and praised as "Japanese Lu Yu". It's a pity that Rongxi didn't visit the literary spring in Luyu's hometown during his stay in China. He deeply regrets this.
