Fengshan Longtian pagoda

In the north of Wuyuan County, a dragon sky pagoda, built in the Wanli period of Ming Dynasty, stands at the head of Fengshan village where the government of Zheyuan township is located. It is said that before the construction of the pagoda, there were many fires in Fengshan village, so the villagers built the pagoda to subdue the God of fire, and named it "Longtian", which is symmetrical with the name of "Fengshan" village, and has the meaning of "auspicious dragon and phoenix". Longtian pagoda is more than 30 meters high. It is a brick and stone structure with six sides and seven floors. The waist eaves protrude layer by layer, and the width decreases upward. Iron wind bells are suspended at the eaves of each floor. When the wind blows, the bells are clanking and pleasant. There are stairs in the tower, which can be viewed from the top.

Introduction to historic sites

In the north of Wuyuan (Wuyuan County, Shangrao City, Jiangxi Province), the only ancient brick and stone pagoda, Fengshan Longtian pagoda, stands beside Zhexi, the head of Fengshan village where the government of Zheyuan township is located. It has a long history and was built in the Wanli period of Ming Dynasty. Four hundred years of wind and rain, it still stands, for the villagers "fire calm disaster"! It has been listed as a cultural relic protection unit in Jiangxi Province on December 18, 2006. (No. 23 of the fifth batch) it is said that the Zushan mountain in the northwest of Fengshan village is called fenghuangjian, and the tower is called Longtian, which can be called "Longfeng Chengxiang". Longtian tower is Wenfeng tower in Fengshan village, located in the southeast of Fengshan. Tower Pavilion style, brick, hexagonal seven storey, 37 meters high, the bottom layer into 3.40 meters, wall thickness of 1.05 meters, the main door facing north, the door opening width of 0.86 meters, each floor each side are open with a ticket window.

So the old legend: it is said that there were many fires in the "Shankeng" (formerly known as "Fengshan") at that time, and the villagers were very scared. Therefore, the village sent a highly respected patriarch to "gaohushan" to ask questions. "Gaohushan" has always been a famous place for lectures on Tibetan scriptures in Huizhou, where there are many eminent monks and celebrities. The eminent monk inspected the topography of the village and suggested that a fixed tower should be built at the entrance of the village. According to the water character of dragon and the meaning of dragon and Phoenix presenting auspiciousness, the pagoda was also called "dragon heaven pagoda", and "Shankeng" was renamed "Fengshan village". After the pagoda was built, the God of fire was shocked and the fire in the village disappeared. Before the construction of the pagoda, there were many fires in Fengshan village, so the villagers built the pagoda to suppress the God of fire, and named it "Longtian", which is symmetrical with the name of "Fengshan" village, and has the meaning of "auspicious dragon and phoenix".

Next to the Dragon sky tower, there are cherry blossoms and green willows in spring. The green hills are like screens, and the rape flowers on the fields are fragrant. The powder walls are scattered, the shops are facing the road, the sound of cars and the shadow of people are incessant. Zhexi rippling, morning and dusk can be seen in the stream Huanyi figure.
