Xianghai Wetland

Xianghai Wetland Reserve is located in the northwest of Tongyu County, Baicheng area, facing the south of Haihai reservoir and the eastern border of Horqin grassland, covering an area of 106700 hectares. It is a national nature reserve.

Introduction to scenic spots

It is a scenic spot with the primitive features of swamp, birds and animals, yellow elm, reed, apricot forest and fishing in Western China. It is known as "Changbai in the East and Xianghai in the west".

There are three rivers, Huolin River, ermutai River and Tao'er River, among which two large and hundreds of small natural marshes are scattered all over the area. The area is rich in natural resources, with more than 200 kinds of herbs and more than 20 kinds of trees; there are more than 20 kinds of fish, 173 kinds of birds and 15 kinds of cranes, accounting for 40% of the world's existing cranes; rare birds include Red Crowned Crane, white naped crane, white headed crane, grey crane, white crane, swan, Golden Eagle, etc., which has become a well-known "Hexiang" and has been listed in the world's A-class wetland list. There are more than 30 kinds of animals, such as roe deer, mountain rabbit, yellow sheep, fox, hunter, gray wolf, weasel and Aihu.

The meandering and rolling sand dunes, the rippling lakes, the various Mongolian elms, the lush grass and reed, the cattle and sheep kissing the grass, and the fish and shrimp roaming in the pond constitute a group of beautiful pastoral poems and a simple and elegant custom painting.
