Mingcheng

Mingcheng, located in Foshan City, Guangdong Province, is a historical and cultural ancient city of Gaoming. Historically, it was the political, economic and cultural center of Gaoming. In the 11th year of Chenghua in the Ming Dynasty (1475 A.D.), Gaoming set up a county from Gaoyao, and Mingcheng was set up as the county government. In the following 500 years, Mingcheng has always been the county seat of Gaoming. In the history of Gaoming, Mingcheng has always maintained its position as an important town (from May 1952 to August 1954, Gaoming and Heshan counties worked together, and the county seat moved to shaping town of Heshan. In August 1954, Gaoming County seat moved back to Mingcheng. In November 1958, Gaoming and Heshan counties merged to set up Gaohe county. In the winter of 1981, the system of Gaoming county was restored, and Mingcheng was changed from a county to a level town. In 1998, Mingcheng was once again established as an important town of Gaoming's economic and cultural sub center.

history

Ming City has a long history. It is the site of Gaoming county. It was built in 1478 (the 14th year of Chenghua in Ming Dynasty) and has a history of more than 500 years. As early as the Ming Dynasty, there was a period of "the peak of literary style", and many cultural celebrities emerged in history. In modern times, Tan Pingshan, Tan Zhitang, Tan Tiandu and other three early proletarian revolutionaries of our party emerged.

Ming town is located in Guangdong, Hong Kong, Macao, the western Pearl River Delta, the hinterland of Gaoming District, 85 kilometers away from Guangzhou. Zhuzhao highway and Guanggao highway cross the town in east-west direction. Rich in resources, beautiful scenery and beautiful environment, it is a famous "oasis" in the Pearl River Delta, with unique ecological and environmental advantages. The central urban area covers an area of 4 square kilometers, with a total population of more than 40000 people (10000 floating population). It is an important satellite town in the Pearl River Delta and a famous hometown of overseas Chinese. There are 15000 overseas Chinese and compatriots from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.

Sociology

The town Party committee and the town government have actively implemented the development strategy of "establishing the town by industry, stabilizing the town by agriculture, revitalizing the town by science and education, prospering the town by attracting investment, and governing the town by law". They are committed to the development of comprehensive small towns. The primary, secondary and tertiary industries have developed rapidly, and the economic strength of the town has been significantly enhanced. Since 1999, the town has introduced 30 enterprises with a contract investment of nearly 300 million yuan. It has formed an industrial system dominated by building materials, chemical industry, electrical engineering, textile, plastic and other industries. The tertiary industry mainly consists of construction industry, real estate development, leisure tourism and business services. Aiwen education farm and sijiguo tourism farm have developed into the tourism hotspots of our city.

All social undertakings have developed in an all-round way. The town has been rated as a civilized town of Foshan City and an advanced sports town of Guangdong Province; the educational resources have been optimized and adjusted; the primary schools with poor school running conditions have been merged; the Central Primary School has been rated as a first-class school of Foshan City; the central kindergarten and the comprehensive building of Dongzhong have been put into use, which further strengthen the educational advantages of the sub center. Economics

Mingcheng town has a long history of famous planting industry, such as Ganggen mustard, Daping radish, xizhougua and so on. It has initially formed a regional and industrialized agricultural system with animal husbandry in the South and east of the city, aquatic products in the east of the city, and vegetables in the East, North and west of the city as the main body. It is an important food, vegetable and animal husbandry base in Foshan and Gaoming. The annual average planting area of various economic crops is 19500 mu (multiple cropping), the fish pond area is more than 13000 mu, more than 1.6 million livestock are listed, and 33500 mu (multiple cropping) of high-quality rice is planted. There is a broad prospect for the development of the agricultural market. A large number of vendors come to purchase, and the agricultural and sideline products of the surrounding Xinxing County, Nanhai City, Gaoyao City, Heshan City and the neighboring towns and districts are also traded in Mingcheng.

Relying on its superior geographical environment, natural conditions and strong economic strength, Mingcheng has always been a key town of Gaoming. In addition, its economy and various undertakings have been booming in recent years. In 1998, it was positioned as the economic and cultural sub center of Gaoming by Gaoming municipal Party committee and municipal government. Travel

There are many scenic spots, such as "Dongzhou spring wave", "Wenchang overlooking", "Qinglin autumn wind", "guanjing Qingyu", "Mingfeng ZhuoBi", "Ludong Kaiping", "Jinwan Sunrise", "Yuetai Bailu" and so on. There are also "Wenchang tower" (built in 1584, the 12th year of Wanli in Ming Dynasty), 37 meters high, 7 floors and 8 corners, 8.56 meters in diameter on the first floor), and "Mingyang tower" (built in 1584) In 1890, the 16th year of qingguangzhu, there are 16 meters high, three floors and six corners, and the first floor is 4.22 meters in diameter. All these are the witness of the long history of Ming City, and also the precious historical heritage of the people of Ming City. Today, under the Wenchang tower in the town of Ming Dynasty, the "three tan" revolutionary memorial hall has been built, which is enough to make the ancient city proud. Their statues of three people are set up in the most beautiful park of Ming City, so that future generations will always remember the pioneers in the Chinese revolution in the ancient city of Ming City.
