Hua Luogeng Memorial Hall
After Hua Luogeng's death on June 12, 1985, Jintan District, Changzhou City, Jiangsu Province, the hometown of Hua Lao, built a memorial hall with three exhibition halls and a total area of 615 square meters in Zhongshan Park in the city center. As a patriotic education base in Jiangsu Province, the memorial receives more than 50000 visitors from home and abroad every year. Over the years, Hua Luogeng has not been forgotten by people, but more and more respected and missed by people. With the increase of visitors, the facilities in the museum are becoming obsolete, and the exhibition area is difficult to accommodate many visitors. In this case, Jintan municipal Party committee and government decided to move Hua Luogeng Memorial.
The new Hua Luogeng memorial hall is located in the south of the city scenic area, covering an area of 25000 square meters and a construction area of 2050 square meters. It is a modern memorial building designed by Professor Qi Kang of Southeast University. The exhibition hall is round and forms a mathematical rectangular coordinate system similar to the wall extending all around. It also symbolizes the master spirit of Hua Lao's multi-faceted development.
Master's hometown
Hua Luogeng died of illness in June 1985. Later, his ashes were placed in Babaoshan Revolutionary Cemetery. Before he died, he left a will, hoping that his ashes would return to his hometown Jintan and be scattered in Taohu lake.
When Wu Xiaoyuan, Hua's wife, died in 2004, Hua's children thought of returning home for their father. Not long ago, HuaLao's children solemnly applied to the Central Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese people's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and the National League for Democracy (NLD) for the removal of their ashes, which was quickly approved by the general office of the CPC Central Committee. At the same time, HuaLao's children also decided to move the ashes of their mother Wu Xiaoyuan back to their hometown Jintan.
Relocation of the memorial
The new Hua Luogeng memorial hall was started in March 2005 with a total investment of about 10 million yuan and opened on November 12, 2006. The new hall includes lecture hall, VIP room and other parts. The exhibition is divided into upper and lower floors. There is a bronze statue of Hua Luogeng standing in the hall. After the bronze statue, the ashes of Hua Luogeng's husband and wife are placed. There is a restored former residence of Hua Luogeng. Picture and text display boards are used to display the objects. In addition, phantom imaging technology is added to show the scene of Hua Luogeng saying goodbye to his classmates at Princeton University before returning home. The exhibition is divided into six parts
The first part: Contemporary self-taught scientific giants
The second part: the outstanding representatives of Chinese intellectuals
The third part: famous social activists
The fourth part: to support the new generation of outstanding educators
Part five: work to the last moment of life
The sixth part: Hua Luogeng and his hometown
The exhibition reflects the career and pursuit of HuaLao in his whole life and embodies his spirit of inspiring future generations. In addition, to meet the interests of primary and secondary school students, there are four touch screens for interesting math games in the exhibition hall.
Hua Luogeng memorial hall is not only the home for Jintan people to commemorate Hua Luogeng spirit, but also an important place for the majority of scientific and technological workers to remember Hua Luogeng's achievements, inherit and carry forward Hua Luogeng spirit.
Opening of new museum
The relocation of Hua Luogeng memorial hall was officially launched in Jintan in March 2004. Professor Qi Kang, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and a famous contemporary architect in China, was invited as the main designer of the new hall. The investment of the new Hua Luogeng memorial hall is nearly ten million yuan. The exhibits in the museum are divided into words, pictures, objects and audio-visual system. It is reported that the museum has become the most comprehensive organization in China with Chinese and Laozi graphic materials.
The newly built Hua Luogeng memorial hall, with a construction area of 2000 square meters and a total investment of 5 million yuan, is located in the south of the city scenic spot in the master plan of Jintan District, Changzhou City, Jiangsu Province. It is close to the Jintan Museum, Duan Yucai Memorial Hall and the city gymnasium. It has a wide sight, water and land, and beautiful scenery. Jintan said that it will build the new museum into a building with specific temperament and charm to commemorate the track of HuaLao's life, reflect HuaLao's career and pursuit, and embody HuaLao's spirit.
The museum also visually shows the life and work of Hua Luogeng, with a large number of precious physical originals. In addition, in the exhibition hall, a large number of original manuscripts, letters and postcards are displayed.
Zhang Jianhua, deputy secretary of Jintan municipal Party committee, learned an important message from the relatives of HuaLao: HuaLao's children in Beijing keep a large number of HuaLao's relics. They are preparing to dispose of them. Both the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Tsinghua University intend to collect them. Zhang Jianhua immediately reported to Xu Huizhong, Secretary of Jintan municipal Party committee. Jintan municipal Party committee decisively decided to fight for the support of his family members, take back the relics and move to build a new museum .
A few days later, Zhang Jianhua and the person in charge of the archives rushed to Beijing. That night, Zhang Jianhua rented a lengthened truck to transport all the thousands of precious relics back to Jintan.
Chinese children
A total of three generations of children and grandchildren of HuaLao, about 10 academicians, and well-known figures in domestic mathematics circles all attended the ceremony. According to Hua Jundong, the eldest son of HuaLao, Hua Luogeng is a man of great nostalgia. He loves his hometown Jintan very much. Whenever he meets a fellow countryman, he always speaks Jintan dialect. One year, a villager in Jintan came to Beijing and brought two Jin of tea to HuaLao by the way. HuaLao wrote back affectionately: "fragrance is no more than native tea; kiss is no more than native people!"
Hua Jundong, the eldest son of HuaLao, delivered a speech at the ceremony. In nearly half an hour, Hua Jundong recalled his father's past. Towards the end of the speech, the reporter saw that Hua Jundong's hand was shaking while his voice choked and he wiped his tears with his hands several times. Finally, he said, "may my father sleep in his hometown."
