Former residence of Hu Yuzhi
Hu Yuzhi's former residence was built in the chiwu hall during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty. It is located along the Chenghuang River in Fenghui Town, an ancient city. It is a well-designed Jiangnan platform gate courtyard. The overall building is spacious and magnificent, with extraordinary momentum.
Since November 2, 2014, chiwutang, the former residence of Huyu in Fenghui ancient town of Shangyu with a history of nearly 300 years, has been opened to the public.
Hu Yuzhi is a famous cultural figure in the intellectual circles. He is a social activist with both political integrity and ability. He works hard for the rejuvenation of the country and the nation. He was the first director of the General Administration of publishing, vice chairman and acting chairman of the China Democratic League, and vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress. He died in 1986.
