Haihong pavilion was built in October 1993 to commemorate the 200th anniversary of Cao Xueqin's masterpiece a dream of Red Mansions from Zhapu to the world.

The dictionary of a dream of Red Mansions (edited by Feng Qiyong and Li Xifan) has such a record: "in the autumn and winter of 1793, Nanjing gankaitai's" Yin Er "ship sailed from Zhapu Port, Zhejiang Province to Japan, carrying 67 kinds of Chinese books, among which the 61st is nine volumes and 18 sets of a dream of Red Mansions." "Pinghu County gazetteer" records: "Qing Qianlong Guichou year on October 20 (November 23, 1793 transfer Nanjing Wang Kaitai's Yin 2 merchant ship set sail from Zhapu, test sail Japan, the ship carried 67 kinds of Chinese books, including" a dream of Red Mansions ". On November 6 (December 9), the ship arrived in Nagasaki. " As far as we know, this is the earliest date when a dream of Red Mansions spread into Japan.
Completion time
In August 1992, initiated by Pinghu Society for a dream of Red Mansions, a seminar on a dream of Red Mansions was held in Pinghu, Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai. At the meeting, it was decided that a dream of Red Mansions would build a sea Red Pavilion at an ox horn point on the sea of Zhapu. After careful design and ingenious construction, Haihong pavilion was completed in October 1993. The unveiling ceremony was held on November 23, and the famous "Redology" writers Jiang Hesen, Cai Yijiang and Sun Xun came to celebrate the completion of Haihong Pavilion.

Haihong Pavilion is located on the tip of ox horn. Pavilion as a whole is light red, double top structure, elegant and magnificent situation. Feng Qiyong, President of China dream of Red Mansions society, inscribed the name of the pavilion and wrote couplets on the front stone column: "the dream flies away from here, crossing the blue sea and the blue sky, scattering all over the world; the stone comes from the sleeve there, and the children are unreal and infatuated, and the true feelings will never be forgotten." The couplets on the stone pillars on the back of the pavilion are "the red snow melts, the green ridge flows, and the fire smoke curls, and the Red Mansion seeks its dream to Nagasaki." Written by Duanmu Hongliang, the author of Cao Xueqin and a famous red scientist. On the top of the pavilion are more than 30 sculptures of characters, flowers and birds in a dream of Red Mansions and boats sailing to sea. The statue of Cao Xueqin is carved in relief and hollow out. The whole statue is lifelike and lifelike. The memorial to the sea of "a dream in red" stands in the center of the pavilion, inscribed for the famous calligrapher Qigong. On the back of it is engraved with the inscription of "a dream in red". The base of the stele is shaped like a boat, which is a symbol of going out to sea. More than 10 meters in front of Haihong Pavilion, a huge stone stands on the sea. It is engraved with the four big characters "biepu in Red Mansions". The characters are bright and elegant with red background. It is also written by President Feng Qiyong.
