On the top of the mountain, there is a funnel-shaped crater, about 350 meters in diameter and 140 meters in depth. The inner wall is steep and the scene is dense. There are pedestrian trails around the crater. Looking down at the bottom of the crater, it is daunting.
Laoheishan mountain is also called Heilong mountain, commonly known as Xianren mountain. It erupted in 1720 and erupted again in 1721. According to historical records, it has erupted six times so far. Due to its typical landform, it looks like Heilong mountain. The green vegetation in summer and the snow in winter can not hide its black luster, so it is called Heilong mountain. Heilongshan is 515.9 meters above sea level and 165.9 meters above ground level. It is the second largest volcano in Wudalianchi. With complete volcanic landform and unique landscape, it is regarded as a rare volcanic geology exhibition hall by geologists. It is mainly composed of "stone sea", "water curtain cave", "fairy Palace", "volcanic forest", "crater" and other scenic spots. The crater is 350 meters in diameter and 145 meters in depth.
The southern slope of Heilong mountain is covered with volcanic gravel, also known as volcanic ash. The volcano is a product of gas eruption. When the gas in the magma is particularly abundant, it will erupt foam like lava, and then condensate and scatter along the wind direction around the volcano. According to the distribution of volcanic gravels, it can be inferred that the north wind or northwest wind was blowing here when the volcano erupted.
The early cone was destroyed and occupied by the late eruption. The difference between the early and the late can be seen from the density of vegetation. It is a dormant active volcano.
Surrounding scenery
Laoheishan is surrounded by lava platform with a total area of 65 square kilometers. In that year, the lava flowed southward along the Baihe River, forming a 10 km long "stone dragon". The stone dragon scene is rare in the world. From a distance, it looks like the turbulent waves of the sea. From a short distance, it is strange that the stone is rugged, with a thousand shapes and strange shapes, such as bears, tigers, snakes, ropes and mangroves. Among the peculiar lava tunnels and caves, there are also peculiar lava stalagmites, such as pyramids, thorns, blades or thin plates, which are attached to the four walls of the cave. It is a marvelous sight and an excellent place to watch the appearance of lava.

Geological characteristics
The mountain is towering with lush vegetation, with a relative height difference of 166 meters. It is the highest of the 14 volcanoes. On the East and north sides of the mountain, Panshan road can reach the top of the mountain, and there is a funnel-shaped crater on the top of the mountain, with a diameter of 350 meters and a depth of 140 meters. There are pedestrian trails around the crater. Looking down at the bottom of the crater, it is daunting. There is a volcanic cave in the northeast corner of the mountain. The lava in the cave is hanging upside down, and the scenery is various.
Laoheishan (in Wudalianchi city)
Laoheishan (in Wudalianchi city) is located 10 kilometers north of Wudalianchi city. It belongs to WUDALIANCHI VOLCANIC group. There are huoshao mountain which erupted recently in the north, nangelagui mountain and Yaoquan mountain which erupted early in the West and southwest, and Wudalianchi in the East. The top of the mountain is black, so it is called "Laoheishan". It erupted in 1719-1721 (58th-60th year of Kangxi reign of Qing Dynasty), which is a rare dormant volcano in China. The altitude is 515.5 meters and the relative altitude is 164 meters. The base is 1600 meters in diameter, and the crater is funnel-shaped, 350 meters in diameter and 136 meters deep. There are two gaps on the north side of the crater, which are channels for lava to overflow. The whole mountain is composed of black pumice, volcanic ash and lava. The surface is covered by dark brown rock, the southwest slope is steep, the north slope is gentle, growing birch, poplar, oak and other trees. The mountain is surrounded by relatively gentle lava platform. A large area of lava "stone sea" on the north side of the exposed surface, with wave peaks overlapping, is majestic. Looking at the vast ocean from a distance and looking at the turbulent rocks from a close view, it is very spectacular. The lava flowing southward in a zonal distribution, extending for 17 kilometers, is like a huge dragon, known as "stone dragon", which is also a wonder of Laoheishan.
