Jianshan Temple
The architecture of Jianshan temple is simple, elegant and magnificent, with a total construction area of 5589 square meters. Jianshan temple is a imitative Buddhist building of Tang Dynasty, and its scale is so large that it can be called the largest temple in Guangxi. The name of the temple was inscribed by Zhao Puchu, a famous Chinese calligrapher and the late president of the Chinese Buddhist Association.

historical origin
Founded in the early years of Kaiyuan in Tang Dynasty (713 AD), it is one of the earliest ancient temples in Guilin. It has experienced song, yuan, Ming, Qing Dynasties and other dynasties, and its incense flourished for more than 1200 years. According to historical records, master Jianzhen, a famous monk of the Tang Dynasty, failed to make his fifth eastward trip to Japan. On his way back to Yangzhou from Hainan Island, he arrived in Guilin by water from Wuzhou and took a year's rest in Guilin. During this period, master Jianzhen often gave lectures in Jianshan temple. The abbot of the temple was a famous monk miaozhan, a great monk, and a master Ben Ru who had gone to three universities.

The main hall is a typical ancient temple layout, There are Zhaobi hall, Shanmen hall, Tianwang hall, Daxiong hall and Sutra Pavilion in the central axis; there are Guanyin hall, Manjusri hall, Puxian hall, dizang hall, bell and Drum Tower, gallery and tablet Pavilion in the east-west direction; each hall is a place for tourists to visit, understand the origin of Buddhist culture, carry out Buddhist exchange activities and visit incense; there are Zhaitang and pilgrim hall in the East-West side of Shanmen to meet the dining and accommodation needs of Buddhist believers .

There are 48 Buddha statues in the temple, including the second general of hengha, the four heavenly kings, Maitreya Buddha, Weituo Bodhisattva, Sakyamuni Buddha, Amitabha Buddha, pharmacist Buddha, Guanyin Bodhisattva, Puxian Bodhisattva, dizang Bodhisattva, Manjusri Bodhisattva and eighteen Arhats. Among them, the "third Buddha" worshipped in the 18 meter high Mahatma hall is as high as 7 meters.
Jianshan Temple integrates pilgrimage and sightseeing, incense worship, Buddha worship and other Buddhist activities. Its geographical environment is superior, and the moon mountain, banyan tree, Julongtan and other nearby attractions cluster into a large tourist scenic area.
