Longtan River

Longtan River scenic spot is located in Yangwei Town, Yunxi County, Hubei Province. It is a national AAAA scenic spot, a provincial forest park and a Geopark. With an area of 64 square kilometers, the scenic spot is one of the few waterfalls and summer resorts around Shiyan City.

After the completion of laoguanmiao Jianghan bridge in the 12th Five Year Plan, Baihe station of Xiangyu railway and double track is only 11 km away from the scenic spot, and the exit of Shitian expressway is only 12 km away from the scenic spot, so the water and land transportation is very convenient.

Introduction

Longtan River scenic spot is located in Yangwei Town, Yunxi County, near the Han River, at the junction of Hubei and Shaanxi counties (Yunxi, Yunxian, Baihe).

There are more than 60 scenic spots of Longtan River, including more than 40 related to waterfalls, which can be described as "one scene at a time, one waterfall at a time". The most famous ones are Tianguang line, Yinhe feixie, Tian'e playing in the water, Jinyun Huihuan, Canglong Huigong, Longnv bathing, Longtan xieyue, Longnv Xianxiu, Longquan, etc.

The Dragon King asked the little dragon girl to return to the Dragon Palace before the rooster crows, otherwise it will become a stone. Little dragon girl came to the Longtan River to have a good swim. Because the river is clear and cool, she forgot her father's warning. As a result, she turned into a stone and stood in the Longtan River Valley, always with the Longtan River

There are many waterfalls in Longtan River, and all the water comes from a cave "longan" on the cliff. It is said that no matter how dry the weather is all year round, the water will not dry up. Looking down from "longan", the whole Longtan River scenic spot is a green world, full of mountains and fascinating scenery.. There are steep rocks, deep canyons, cascading waterfalls, fast water flow, inverted bell milk and rugged plank road.

"If the mountain is not high, there will be immortals; if the water is not deep, there will be dragons.". "Longtan River" originated from a folk myth. It is said that the Dragon King of Xihai, who is in charge of the rain gear in heaven, lives with a fortune teller, Tan Banxian, who lives in Yangwei. In order to win, the Dragon King of Xihai privately changed the Jade Emperor's will to rain on earth. Although he won Tan Banxian, he violated the heavenly rule. In order to escape the punishment of the Jade Emperor, the Dragon King of Xihai hid himself in the Longtan River under the cover of Tan Banxian and escaped the pursuit of the heavenly soldiers and generals. In order to thank Tan Banxian for his help, the Dragon King of Xihai is here to spread rain and dew, bring benefits to the common people, and make this area prosperous. Later, when the Jade Emperor saw that the Dragon King of Xihai could make up for his fault in time, he opened his eyes and closed his eyes. In order to thank the Dragon King of Xihai, the local people built the Dragon King temple here to worship incense for many years. The Dragon King of Xihai was worshipped by the people. He was very happy, so he decorated the place where he fled, which made today's "Longtan River" landscape.

Longtan River is more than 100 kilometers away from Shiyan City, so the traffic is very convenient. Take the shuttle bus from Sanyan passenger station to Yunxi, get off at Yunxi Hanjiang Bridge, and take the numb bus to the scenic spot in about 20 minutes. No more than 100 yuan per person.

The following is the self driving route from Wuhan to Yunxi Longtan River

1. Starting from the starting point, drive 9.6km in Jiangan district and enter Daihuang Expressway / S1

2. Drive along Daihuang Expressway / S1 for 10.9km (via Fuhe toll station), pass Dong Liyu for 300m, then turn left to enter Fuyin Expressway / G70

3. Drive 478.7km along Fuyin Expressway / G70, leave from Yunxi / Xiangkou / S301 exit (via Yunxi toll station), turn right to S301

4. Drive 2.3km along S301, leave the first exit around the island and enter Xi'an Avenue

5. Drive along Xi'an avenue for 0.6km and turn right into Xi'an Avenue

6. Drive along Xi'an avenue for 11.4km, then turn right after about 1500m to S228

7. Continue to drive along S228 for 13.2km and turn left into S228

8. Continue to drive along S228 for 26.7 km, pass Yangwei health center of Yunxi County for about 200 meters, and then turn right

9. Drive 4.3 km to the destination
