Anting Town
Anting Town, a town under the jurisdiction of Jiading District in Shanghai, was established in the Han Dynasty by the Qin Dynasty. The name of Anting is "ten li, one Pavilion, with Anting as the town". Anting town is located at the junction of Shanghai and Jiangsu, adjacent to Malu Town, Nanxiang Town and Huangdu town in the East, Huaqiao town of Kunshan City in Jiangsu Province in the west, Baihe Town of Qingpu District across Huning Expressway in the south, and Waigang Town, Juyuan New District and Jiading Industrial Zone in the North. It is 32 kilometers away from the center of Shanghai and 20 kilometers away from Shanghai Hongqiao Airport.
The total area of the town is 89.34 square kilometers, including 37 administrative villages, 16 communities and 4 farmers' Villas. The registered residence population is 85 thousand, and the resident population is 263328 (2017).
In 2014, the added value of Anting town was 28.42 billion yuan.
Anting town has many scenic spots, such as Bodhi temple, Zhenchuan academy, Yong'an tower, Yansi bridge, Wenzhi hall, lianghuang tomb and so on.

Evolution of organizational system
Anting, in the Han Dynasty, followed the Qin system, "ten li one Pavilion, with Anting as the town", Anting's name has continued to this day.
During the period of the Three Kingdoms, in 239 A.D., the Bodhi temple was built in the north of Anting. The residents gathered around Anting, and Anting gradually became a village.

In 1958, Anting town was officially planned as an industrial satellite town of Shanghai.

In September 2000, the former establishment of Anting Town and Fangtai town was abolished and a new Anting town was established.
