Benzilan is located in the southeast of Deqin County, the West Bank of Jinsha and the east foot of Baimang snow mountain. It is 81 kilometers away from Zhongdian county. It is the residence of penzilan township government, a Tibetan inhabited area. Penzilan is a Tibetan transliteration, which means beautiful sandba.
