The wise tower
The wise tower courtyard, commonly known as the pagoda temple, is located at the junction of jindiling and yindiling in the north of Tiantai County, Zhejiang Province. In the 17th year of emperor kaihuang of Sui Dynasty (597), Zhiyi passed away in Shicheng Temple of Xinchang County (now Xinchang Dafo Temple). After Zhiyi died, his body was sent back to the rooftop.
The wise man's pagoda was built in Tiantai Mountain by later generations. In the first year of the Xiangfu reign of Song Dynasty (1008), Zhenjue temple was changed. After the waste. In Longxing (1163-1157), Seng Zhenren revived the Buddhist hall. At the turn of Xianfeng and Tongzhi in the Qing Dynasty (1861-1862), it was destroyed by war and rebuilt in 1889.
Because Zhiyi is the founder of Tiantai Sect of Buddhism in China and has far-reaching influence, it was listed as a key cultural relic protection unit at the provincial level in June 1982 and changed its name to Zhizhe Tayuan.
Historical evolution
After repair, the main hall has three rooms, and the door plaque is "the body tower of the wise master". The body tower is made of bluestone, with a height of about 7 meters. It is exquisitely carved. There are 2 layers and 6 sides, each layer is carved with pole, brace, column, bucket and arch, and the front niche of the first layer is set with Zhiyi sitting statue. The gate of the temple faces east. There is a well of sweet spring, which is crystal clear. The title of the south gate is "Zhenjue temple". There are two stone lions in front of the gate, which is very ancient.

On the north side of the temple, there are three tombs of the founder of Tiantai Sect, namely, master Zhan ran, the leader of Tiantai Sect in Tang Dynasty, master guanding, the leader of Zhang'an sect in Tang Dynasty, and master chuandeng of guanyouxi sect in Ming Dynasty. The Sophist pagoda, also known as "zhenjueshaosi", is located on the mountain flat where jindiling and yindiling join at the northern foot of Tiantai Mountain in Zhejiang Province, 10 kilometers away from guoqingshuo temple. It is commonly known as "Gaoming (Temple) bell, tower wind".
Folklore
The wise man's pagoda yard is the place where the wise man's body pagoda is placed. Zhitou (538-587) was the founder of Tiantai Sect of Buddhism in China. His common surname was Chen, and his name was De'an. His ancestral home was Yingchuan (Xuchang, Henan). Later he moved to Huarong, Jingzhou. It is said that before his birth, his mother Xu's dream of five color cigarettes lingered in his mind. When he waved it, he suddenly heard that there was humanity in the air: "the fate of the world, the sustenance of the king. How can we go from here? " Xu's great enlightenment.
On the night of wisdom's birth, the room is bright, and it will die out at dawn. In the morning, two monks slammed the door and chanted: "good! I'm sure I'll become a monk if I have the strength of my son. " At the end of the speech, people were surprised. It is said that when zhitou was young, he had all kinds of different appearances: when he was sleeping, he closed his hands, when he was sitting upright, he faced the west, when he saw the Buddha, he worshiped, and when he met a monk, he would salute. When he was seven years old, he went to a Buddhist temple to offer incense. Someone dictated to him Guanyin Bodhisattva's PU men pin. He was more able to recite it and was called strange at that time.
Main facilities
Three gate hall the gate of a temple is usually three gates standing side by side, with one gate in the middle and one small gate on each side, so it is called three gate hall. On both sides of the inner door of Sanmen hall are two statues of Vajra holding a Vajra pestle. This is the God of Yasha who guards the Buddha, also known as "holding Vajra". It is said that the Buddha has 500 Vajra followers. The main one is called "Vajra of secret trace".
The common custom calls this image "two general of hem ha". In fact, there is no such name in the Buddhist scriptures.
Tianwang hall is the first hall in the three gates. In the middle of the hall is Maitreya, and the statue of Maitreya is for Wei tuotian, facing north. There are four statues of heavenly kings on both sides of the East and the West. The name of the eastern heavenly king is "Titus Lazha" (which means to hold the country, that is, to protect the land, and is the main music God of the emperor Shitian), holding a lute to protect the people of the Eastern "ftiva" (Shengzhou); the name of the southern heavenly king is "piliuli" (which means to increase the good roots of others), holding a sword to protect the people of the southern yanfuti (Shengjin); In the west, the name of the heavenly king is "piliubocha" (which means wide eyes, can observe and protect the people with pure eyes), with a dragon wrapped in his hand to protect the people of West quyeni (niuhuo) island; in the north, the name of the heavenly king is "Pisan" (which means much news, great fortune, protect the people's wealth), with an umbrella in his right hand to protect the people of North yudanyue (Shengchu) island. They are called the "four vajras" in the secular world. In fact, there is no such statement. King Kong, the king of heaven can not be confused.
Buddhist Humanities
Maitreya Bodhisattva is named "ayido". He is a disciple of Sakyamuni and a native of southern China. Later, he was born in the inner courtyard of Douri to educate Bodhisattva. There are also Buddhists who call them Maitreya Bodhisattva, which originated from Fenghua, Zhejiang Province. In the Five Dynasties, a monk often carried a cloth bag to educate the masses, which was quite popular with the masses. On his deathbed, he said a verse: "Maitreya is true Maitreya, which is worth tens of billions. It always shows the people of the time, and the world does not know it." Therefore, people think that Maitreya Buddha is the incarnation of Maitreya Bodhisattva.
Wei tuotian - it is said that Tang daoxuan's lawyer once talked with Tianren, saying that there was a Wei general under the southern heavenly king who often traveled to the southeast and West three continents (beizhou had no family members) to protect and help the family members. After the Song Dynasty, the statue of Wei Tian was molded in the temple, which was also mixed with the Wei Tuo Tian mentioned in the Buddhist scriptures. It was generally called Wei Tuo Bodhisattva.
Da Xiong Hall - Da Xiong hall is the main hall, or Da Xiong hall. Daxiong is to praise Sakyamuni's noble Buddha.
Sakyamuni Buddha is the leader of Buddhism. Two thousand and five hundred years ago, a prince of the Sakyamuni tribe in India became a monk and established Buddhism, so he is called Sakyamuni Buddha. Generally, there are two standing statues of bhikkhu beside the Buddha statue of Sakyamuni. Among them, the old one is called "venerable Kaya", and later generations of Buddha Nirvana call him the first ancestor; the young one is called "venerable Ananda", and later generations of venerable Kaya call him the second ancestor. It is wrong to call Sakyamuni Buddha the Tathagata Buddha, because the Tathagata and the Buddha are the general names of all Buddhas, not a certain Buddha. Just like Sir, you can't say it's someone.
The "Temple" is the place where the king lives: the Buddha is called the king of great medicine, who can cure the troubles of all living beings and the diseases of life and death. The words of the temple were set up by Empress Wu Zetian. For example, all the ministers would go to the temple at five o'clock. As the saying goes, "everything goes without going to the temple of three treasures.".
