Historical review

Zunyi zoo, formerly a zoo animal exhibition area in Zunyi Park, was founded in 1956, covering an area of 9600 square meters, with 41 species and 320 animals.

With the development of urban construction and the increase of urban population, the animal exhibition area has been unable to meet the needs of urban development due to the small area, unreasonable function and layout of animal cages and other factors. In 2005, Zunyi municipal government moved the zoo to Changzheng Town, Honghuagang District, in order to improve the appearance of the city and provide a good living space for animals. It was completed and opened in 2006.

The completion of Zunyi zoo can not only provide a place for local species to be moved and protected, but also a place for medical treatment. It is also more conducive to the protection and research of local species in Zunyi, and stimulates the public to cherish wildlife more, so as to protect biodiversity and form a beautiful environment for human and nature to live in harmony.

Characteristics of the park

Zunyi zoo is the only zoo in northern Guizhou. It is a comprehensive urban park with complete functions, including entertainment, leisure, wildlife viewing, subject research and popular science education. There are 18 animal exhibition venues in the park. Main animals

Through the channels of introduction, exchange and rescue, Zunyi zoo constantly increases new animal species and improves the quality of animal exhibition.
