The ancient camphor garden is located at the east foot of the junction of Damao mountain and Mashan mountain. It's named after the ancient camphor trees in the garden. According to the stele engraved in 1995, "the ancient camphor garden was built in the past. It was offered to Guanyin in the Song Dynasty. It was worshipped by the emperor of the Qing Dynasty. After a long time, it was rebuilt in 1898. A thousand year old camphor, tall and straight, thick and overcast, has become a grand view. Mountain Cloud, yaoruo abyss, there are clear water appreciation, crystal clear to learn. The green hills are the barriers, the green trees are the screens, the clouds are the clouds, and the green branches cover the path. " There are two ancient camphors in the garden, one in Song Dynasty and one in Yuan Dynasty. The ancient camphors in Song Dynasty are tall and straight, elegant and graceful, and more than 8 meters thick. In the Yuan Dynasty, ancient camphors rose from the ground, imposing, and nearly 5 meters thick. These two ancient camphors are close to each other. Garden Culture

There are two ancient camphor trees in Suzhou Xishan ancient camphor garden. Lanzhouxie in the south of the garden Nong hard pool, there is a couplet for "all the way to a beautiful flower, full of spring water to send back the boat.". Suzhou Xishan ancient camphor garden takes the ancient camphor as the center, and its left and right sides are connected by corridors. There are more than 30 stone and brick carvings in the park, such as "Xiumu", "Tianqu", "Linliu", "Jingfang", "Chenghong qiuse", more than 10 plaques, more than 10 couplets with columns, and more than 40 painting and calligraphy works, most of which are works of Suzhou calligraphers and painters. The buildings and ornaments in the garden are all newly built or rebuilt. The monument and donation merit tablet of the rebuilt Town God's Temple Ji is set up in Qing Dynasty for twenty-eight years (1848). There is a mountain pool in the northwest of Suzhou Xishan ancient camphor garden. The pool water is clear, surrounded by Xishan loquat, Myrica rubra and other flowers and fruits. It is quiet and open, with the beauty of the garden and the interest of the mountains. In 1999, Xishan National Modern Agriculture Demonstration Park cooperated with Nanjing Zhongshan Botanical Garden of Chinese Academy of Sciences to expand it into 120 mu ancient camphor botanical garden based on ancient camphor garden, which contains nearly 1000 kinds of rare ornamental plants. It is a famous ornamental area for tourism and plant research.
