Tomb of Sima Guang
Sima Guang's tomb is a national key cultural relic protection unit, located in mingtiaokang, 15 kilometers north of Xiaxian County, Shanxi Province. Sima Guang cemetery is divided into several parts, such as tomb site, stele tower, stele Pavilion and yuqingchan temple. The site of the tomb is on the right, the temple on the left, and the stele tower in the front.
Sima Guang's tombstone building is tall and spectacular, with a "stone tablet of the God of Sima Wen.". The body of the tablet is thick and tall. The inscription introduces the achievements of Sima Guang's life. The inscription is written by Su Dongpo. It is an important symbol of Sima Guang's tomb and has great influence on the outside world.
Historical evolution
Among the vast historical works of our country, Zizhitongjian is a bright pearl. Its chief editor is Sima Guang from Xiaxian County, who is known as Mr. Sushui in the world.
Sima Guang, born in Xiaxian County, Shanxi Province, was the Prime Minister of Song Dynasty. He was a famous statesman and historian in the history of China. He wrote Zizhi Tongjian, a great work which occupies an important position in the history of Chinese historiography. After his death, he was granted the title of Wen Guogong. Sima Guang's Zi Zhi Tong Jian is an important chronicle general history of China. It took 19 years for this magnificent historical work to be completed.

Cemetery protection

At the back of the hall, there are five stone tablets of the Song Dynasty and more than 10 stone tablets of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. These inscriptions, which record the history of Yuqing temple in detail, are important historical materials for studying Sima Guang's tomb.
Sima Guang (1019-1086), a native of Wushui town in Xia County, was a native of the country. In the first year of Baoyuan in the Northern Song Dynasty, Jinshi was known as Mr. Sushui in the world. He was named prime minister in the time of song zhezong and posthumously named Duke Wen. Baoyuan Jinshi is the author of Zizhi Tongjian and Wushui Jiwen.
Layout structure
The tomb is located in the north of Xiaochao village, Shuitou Town, Xianxia County, with mingtiaogang on its back and Anyi, the former capital, on its front. Jifeng in the north, tall and straight, Zhongtiao in the south, Yaotai xianrui. There are 13 mounds of earth sealed in the tombs of Sima Guang and his father and brother's relatives, arranged in an orderly order. On the east side of the tomb is Wengong ancestral hall, with five main halls. The original statues of Sima Guang and the four generations of his ancestors in the hall have disappeared.
In the third year of Yuanyou reign, song zhezong ordered Su Shi, the academician of the Imperial Academy, to write Shinto inscriptions in recognition of Sima Guang's great merit, and wrote six character inscriptions of "the monument of loyalty, purity and virtue". The inscription details Sima Guang's family and life. At the beginning of Shaosheng, Zhou zhishou, the censor, said that "Duke Wen slandered the former Emperor. If the law is abolished, the original stele should be demolished. During the reign of emperor Jin, Wang Tingzhi, the magistrate of Xia County, re engraved the original inscription on the wall, and Yuan Zhen, a monk, paid money to build a shrine to protect it. Hence the name of apricot flower stele, but it's hard to tell if it has been eroded.
Preservation status
In the third year of Jiajing reign of the Ming Dynasty, Zhu Shichang, the imperial censor, inscribed Su Wen on the stele again, standing on the old tortoise shell and crowned it with the old forehead. Now standing in front of Sima Guang's tomb, the stele of Zhongqing Cuide is extremely tall and can be called the first stele in the three Jin Dynasty. In addition, more than 30 inscriptions from the Song Dynasty to the Republic of China are preserved.
