Huangniushi
Huangniushi nature reserve is located in the Jiulian mountains of northern Guangdong and the northern part of Lianping County, with a total area of 4334 hectares. It is connected with Jiulianshan National Nature Reserve of Jiangxi Province in the north.
Huangniushi Nature Reserve
Huangniushi, the highest peak in Northeast Guangdong, is 1430 meters above sea level. The mountain gradually decreases from north to south, with ups and downs. There are many streams in the area, with flying pearls and jade splashing, and the clouds are shining. The geological structure of the reserve is older, belonging to Mesozoic Yanshanian granite, accompanied by metal deposits. The forest in the area is dense and belongs to natural secondary broad-leaved forest. There are many kinds of precious forest plants and wild animals. So far, there are 1 kind of national first-class key protected plants, 12 kinds of second-class key protected plants, 4 kinds of first-class key protected wild animals and 10 kinds of second-class key protected wild animals. It is a treasure house of plants and an animal paradise. The nature reserve has a mid subtropical monsoon climate. The mountain top is covered with clouds and fog. The forest is full of waves in the mountains. The air is fresh and the content of negative ions is high; Huangniushi Provincial Nature Reserve in Lianping, Guangdong Province is located in the Jiulian mountains of northern Guangdong Province and the northern part of Lianping county. Its geographical coordinates are 24 ° 17 '- 25 ° 31' n and 114 ° 24 '- 114' E. It is connected with Jiulianshan National Nature Reserve in Jiangxi Province in the north, Shangping town in Lianping County in the northeast, Potou town in the southwest and Yuanshan town in the southeast and south, with a total area of 4334hm2.
Huangniushi Nature Reserve
The highest peak, huangniushiding, is 1430 meters above sea level, which is the highest peak in Northeast Guangdong. The mountain gradually decreases from north to south. The altitude hovers between 350-1000 meters. There are many streams, undulating rocks and more than ten waterfalls in the area. The geological structure of the reserve is older, belonging to Mesozoic Yanshanian granite, accompanied by metal deposits. The soil types are red soil and yellow soil, which are suitable for the growth and development of forest plants. The reserve has a mid subtropical monsoon climate, with an annual average temperature of 18.5 ~ 19.3 ℃ and rainfall of 1650 ~ 1740 mm. It is a typical forest ecosystem Nature Reserve in the transition from mid subtropical zone to south subtropical zone in northern Guangdong Province.

In September 2002, the South China Institute of endangered animals and the school of biological and chemical engineering of Guangzhou University completed the resource survey of the reserve. A total of 1360 species of wild vascular plants belonging to 696 genera and 193 families were recorded in the reserve. There are 9 species of national key protected plants belonging to 9 genera and 9 families. There are 13 species of amphibians in 5 families of 1 order, 6 species of reptiles in 4 families of 2 orders, 53 species of birds in 17 families of 7 orders and 20 species of mammals in 12 families of 7 orders. There are three kinds of amphibians and reptiles under provincial protection, namely, Rana spinosa, Rana marsh and turtle. There are 4 endemic species in China, including Rana yunnanensis, Rana odorifera, Rana tanqin and Rana biogas. There are three species of birds under the national level II key protection, namely Silver Pheasant, yellow billed horn owl and spotted head bunting. The spotted tailed cuckoo is listed as a rare species in the Chinese red book, while the Yellow billed owl and the red headed cuckoo are listed as vulnerable species in the Chinese red book. Among mammals, clouded leopard is the first level of national key protection animal, pangolin and gazelle are the second level of national key protection animal, and the endemic species of China is South China missing tooth mole.
In March 2003, Guangdong Provincial investigation and Planning Institute carried out the overall planning of the reserve, and the protection facilities of the reserve are under construction.
