The National Museum of science and Technology (officially referred to as the Museum of industry and technology, but the Museum of science and technology is still called by the general public for a long time). Kaohsiung is an important industrial town in Taiwan, including large-scale heavy industries such as Sinosteel, Taiwan Shipbuilding, Taiwan machinery, Sinochem, refineries and power plants. In line with the regional characteristics, the museum displays the principles and applications of science and technology, which complement each other. It also infuses culture and education into the industrial community. At present, the draft Organic Law of the museum is being examined by the Legislative Yuan (the first trial of the committee was held on April 67, 2011).
Development history
In 1988, the Executive Yuan issued 12 construction plans, which listed the construction of museums as one of the central cultural facilities.
In March 1993, with the approval of the Executive Yuan, a planning group for the establishment of the National Museum of science and technology was set up. In August, a delegation was organized to visit science museums in Europe, America, Japan and other countries.
In July 1975, the Preparatory Office of the National Museum of science and technology was established to handle the preparatory work.
In 1976, we selected three architects to be responsible for the design and supervision of construction projects.
In November 1997, the Executive Yuan approved the overall plan for the construction of the museum.
In October 1988, the construction of the structure project started.
In July of 1980, the Executive Yuan approved an amendment to the overall plan for the construction of the museum to expand its scale.
Since 1991, air conditioning project, hydropower project, building decoration phase I project, elevator project, intelligent information equipment project, building decoration phase II project, teaching center project, landscape project and exhibition production project have been contracted and constructed successively, and the project has been in progress for seven years.
The science and Technology Education Center opened on July 26, 1986.
The base park opened on September 21, 1986.
On November 9, 1986, ten permanent exhibition halls were officially opened to the public.
On November 8, 1987, all 18 permanent exhibition halls were opened to the public.
