Xiwangmu yaochi
The Black Sea, the source of the Kunlun River, is a natural plateau lake. It is a sacred lake worshipped by Taoist believers. It is 250 kilometers away from the urban area of Golmud, with an average altitude of 4470 meters. It is about 12000 meters long from east to west and 5000 meters wide from north to South. The deepest water of the lake is 21.9 meters. The lake is sparkling, green and clear. Waterfowls gather on the surface of the lake or play in the water. The golden wind blows brightly and the auspicious air is transpiration. The lake is full of beautiful water and grass. Wild animals such as wild yaks, wild donkeys, brown bears, Yellow Goats and Tibetan antelopes come and go.
Historical legend
There is a platform beside the lake. It is said that every year in the third day of March, the sixth day of June, and the eighth day of August of the lunar calendar, the queen mother of the West specially set up a peach feast here to entertain all kinds of immortals. Then all kinds of immortals came to celebrate their birthday to the first queen mother of the West.
"King Mu interpreted the legend of emperor mu by the queen mother of the West on the side of the Yao pool in Kunlun," while Monkey King Sun Wukong ate flat peaches and made havoc in the heavenly palace (journey to the West). Not far from the Black Sea is the place where Jiang Taigong practiced the five elements road for 40 years. Mysterious and the highest elevation of the West Queen Mother yaochi. There is a commemorative stele of "West Queen Mother yaochi". Chinese people from all over the world, especially compatriots from Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao, come here to worship and seek their roots. You can feel the wonderful charm of Kunlun myth.
