Antai Bridge
Antai bridge is located on bay17 North Road, Gulou District, Fuzhou City, Fujian Province. In 901, Wang Shenzhi built Luocheng. The south gate was extended to Antai bridge, which was called lishemen. Lishemen bridge, 11 meters long and 10 meters wide, was built on the moat outside the gate. Later, it was renamed Antai bridge.
It was rebuilt in the Xuanhe period of Song Dynasty (1119-1125). Under the bridge is the transportation hub of the ancient city canal. People can go down the river and board a boat from here, reaching Minjiang River in the East and West Lake in the West. Every year during the Dragon Boat Festival, dragon boat races cross the bridge. Urban import and export goods are distributed here. With the development of urban roads, Antai bridge has become the main bridge on the urban axis. It is worth mentioning that the bridge is 11 meters long and the main arch is only 20 cm thick. Today, more than 1000 vehicles pass by every day. However, the bridge stands tall, and the congestion under the bridge is serious, so it is no longer navigable.
