Tianmu Lake

Tianmu Lake is located eight kilometers south of Liyang City, Changzhou. It is named "Tianmu Lake" because it belongs to Tianmu Mountain

. Tianmu Lake is a deep-water Lake (reservoir) which is narrow from east to west and long from north to south. The water depth is about 4-5m in the South and 10-14m in the north.

Around Tianmu Lake, there are many historical and cultural sites: Wuyuan mountain named after Wu Zixu of Chu in the spring and Autumn period, Cai Yong's reading platform, Taibai tower, Baoen temple, the former site of Longxing Temple of Tang Dynasty, and the first stone arch dam in the world.

Tianmu Lake area is rich in products, including "Shahe Guiming" green tea, "oolong tea", "Pearl chestnut", "guiyuanli", "casserole fish head" and so on.

Tianmu Lake is known as the "Pearl of Jiangnan" and "green fairyland". The whole area of Tianmu Lake has an ecological protection area of 300 square kilometers. There are two national large reservoirs, Shahe and Daxi.

It is one of the first ecotourism demonstration areas in Jiangsu Province

history

In 1957, water conservancy experts of Jiangsu Province visited Liyang and studied the local topography. It is found that there are continuous green mountains on both sides of the smooth Shahe River. For example, in the lower reaches of the Shahe River, it should be a good thing to stop the water, use water to generate electricity, irrigate the fields, protect the income from drought and flood, and benefit the people. Therefore, we began to build the Shahe reservoir.

In 1992, in order to meet the needs of reform and opening up, Shahe reservoir was changed into Tianmu Lake.

Water Quality

The water quality of Tianmu Lake is in class II ~ III. Transparency and pH value showed that the water quality of Tianmu Lake was in class II ~ III. In the whole year, 39.9% of dissolved oxygen was in the level of class I water quality, 35.8% was in the level of class II water quality, 20.8% was in the level of class III water quality, and only 3.4% was in the level of class III water quality. Only 0.24% of TP was in the level of class I water quality, 30.9% was in the level of class II water quality, 51.4% was in the level of class III water quality, and 17.5% was in the level of class III water quality. Only 2.6% of TN was in class I, 42.4% was in class II, 38.9% was in class III, and 15.6% was below class III.

The water quality of Tianmu Lake is poor in spring and autumn, which is related to the fact that Tianmu Lake is a deep water lake.
