Zhucha Island, also known as Jiming Island, is an island in the sea 8.5 kilometers southeast of Xuejia island. It is located in the south of Qingdao, formed by volcanic eruption, and still has a relatively complete crater. The rocks on the island still have bubbles formed after volcanic eruption and silicon holes formed naturally.

Zhucha island is also known as Jiming Island, inspection island. It is located in the Yellow Sea 8.5 km southeast of Xuejiadao sub district office and 2.9 km north to the nearest land. The village consists of zhucha Island, Tuodao Island, Dashi island and Xiaoshi island. The four islands are close to each other in distance. Zhucha island has always been inhabited by villagers, while Tuodao, Dashi and xiaoshidao have never been inhabited, with a total area of 0.38 square kilometers.

In 2004, there were 189 households with 560 people. It is a typical fishing village with a history of more than 300 years, which mainly produces sea cucumber, abalone and cauliflower. In the 1980s, it was Qingdao's marine treasure base and fishing base for international competitions. It has won the honorary title of advanced fishery unit of Shandong provincial Party committee and government for many times.

In ancient times, there were forests of wild bamboos on the island, which were connected with Tuo Island, Dashi island and Xiaoshi island. The sea water was divided into several branches, so it was named zhucha island. The sea area of zhucha island used to be a fishing ground. In the 1930s, the national Qingdao authorities stationed police on the island for inspection to prevent pirates from robbing fishing boats. It was once called "inspection island". After liberation, the name gradually disappeared. The origin of Jiming island is that in ancient times, a fishing boat was in distress at sea when it was filled with sea fog. When it was in danger, it heard the sound of Jiming on the island and was rescued. In the early years of the Kangxi reign of the Qing Dynasty, the ancestors of Meng and Xiang came to live in the island, but the latter two families were not harmonious. In the ninth year of the Kangxi reign, they sold the island for 360 liang of silver and left. In the same year, the surnames of Yang came from yangjiashanli in Jiaonan City, Wang came from wangyizhuang in Laoshan, and Xue came from Xuejiadao to settle down in succession.

Zhucha island is a scenic spot on the sea of Xuejia island tourist resort with beautiful scenery and rich tourism resources. One of the eight ancient sceneries of Xuejia island is "Phoenix sucking beads". There are many scenic spots on the island, such as the rare and well protected crater landform and karst flow in Qingdao area, many naturally formed fishing platforms, turtle hatching, erlangtan mountain, Yuanyang cave, etc., which are good places for tourism and vacation.

Zhuchadao is picturesque and peaceful, attracting many scholars. In the 1970s, Liu zhixia, the author of railway guerrillas and his wife Liu Qihua, former director of Chinese writers and former chairman of Shandong Federation of literary and art circles, came to live on the island to create Yimeng flying tiger for five years. He Jingzhi, former Minister of culture of the CPC Central Committee, Ke Yan, Zhang guangnian, Xue Shoushan and Feng Deying have been to zhucha island. When Liu zhixia accompanied he Jingzhi to zhucha island again, he wrote a poem full of passion: "talking about the sound of the holy chicken on the desert island, I saw the love of hongsao that year. I'm here to feel the lights. " Today, Liu zhixia's study still exists on the island, adding a new style to zhucha island.

Island Construction

Since the Third Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the villagers of zhucha island have actively responded to the party's call to develop the economy in an all-round way, compete and invigorate. On the basis of stabilizing the household contract responsibility system, and according to the natural advantages of the village, they have vigorously developed marine fishing, mariculture, tourism, and set up a factory outside the island. At present, there are 16 specialized mariculture households in zhuchadao village, 40 large and small motorized fishing boats are engaged in marine fishing and mariculture operations, 16 groups of diving boats are engaged in diving engineering operations in various places, and 10 industrial and commercial households are operating restaurants in the village and outside the island. In 2004, the total economic income of the village was 41.06 million yuan, and the per capita net income was 5936 yuan.

With the development of economy, the construction of zhucha island is changing with each passing day. In 1979, zhuchadao village invested 315000 yuan to carry out the reconstruction of the old village. After four years, all the old thatched houses were demolished and the standard, spacious and bright new tile roofed houses were built. All the streets have been hardened and beautified, and a new island fishing village with red tiles, green trees, blue sea and blue sky has been built, which is famous in Qingdao and even Shandong. In 1981, with the strong support of the local government and Qingdao Beihai fleet and other departments, the submarine cable from Xuejiadao to zhucha island was successfully laid with an investment of more than 700000 yuan. In February 1988, it was officially electrified, which completely solved the electricity problem of zhucha island. In order to ensure the water supply of the island is sufficient, a 5000 cubic meter well was expanded with an investment of 990000 yuan in 2000, and the villagers got tap water. In 1996, with an investment of 700000 yuan, digital microwave communication facilities were installed on the island, and digital telephone was popularized to every household. Before 1978, the village used a horsepower wooden shell motor boat to connect with Xuejiadao wharf. In 1985, a 50 meter long fishing port wharf was built on the west coast of the village to berth 100 ton fishing boats. In 2001, the Management Committee of the Development Zone (district government), Xuejiadao sub district office and zhuchadao village jointly invested in the transportation of tourists by an iron vessel of Qingdao Ocean University. In 2002, on the basis of the original coastal wharf, a 300 ton tourist transportation wharf was expanded. In 2004, the tourist speedboat of Qingdao ferry company was navigable from Anzi wharf of Xuejiadao to zhuchadao day by day. Nowadays, zhucha island has perfect water, electricity, transportation, communication, catering, holiday tourism services and other supporting facilities. The number of tourists is increasing day by day. The villagers of zhucha Island apply for social endowment insurance and rural cooperative medical care, and all social undertakings are thriving.
