Qutang Gorge

Qutang gorge, also known as Kui gorge, is famous for its "male". Qutang gorge is the shortest but the most majestic section of the Three Gorges. It is 8 kilometers long. It starts from Baidi mountain in Fengjie County in the West and ends at Daxi town in Wushan County in the East, with an altitude of more than 1200 meters. The ruins of Du Fu thatched cottage, a few kilometers away from Baidi City, is a place where the poet lingers.

On both sides of the Xiajiang River, cliff carvings can be seen everywhere, and the south bank is the most spectacular. There are dozens of stone carvings carved on the long cliff. In the era, from Song Dynasty till now; in art, seal, Li, Cao and Xing are the wonderful flowers in the stone carving and calligraphy art garden of our country. On the concave stone wall on the north bank, the eight characters of "TIANTI Jinli, qigong" prominently indicate the kuiwu ancient plank road on the cliff at its foot, which leads directly to the Qinglian river at the junction of wuxia and Hubei.

Chijia mountain is named as Chijia mountain because the water solution containing iron oxide adheres to the weathered rock surface, and the earth rock of this mountain is red, like a person's back. Baiyanshan is named after the water solution adhering to the rock, which mainly contains calcium and looks like white salt. In the bright sun, Chijia mountain is slightly red, Baiyan mountain is gray white, across the river, a red, a plain, can be described as a spectacle. Du Fu described the water potential of Kuimen, using "the water will be fulwan, Qutang fight for a door." The outstanding performance outlines Kuimen's majestic posture. On the stone wall near the river, there is sun Yuanliang's inscription: "Kuimen is the most powerful country in the world, and ships and planes pass lightly." Li Duanhao's seal cutting "Weiya Kuimen" and running script "Kuimen Qutang" are vividly remembered. "If the scenery is different, the Three Gorges is the first one.".
