Liuhou temple is the ancestral hall dedicated to Zhang Liang. There are many liuhou temples in China, which are located in Xuzhou, Jiangsu Province and Hanzhong, Shaanxi Province. Zhang Liang attempted to escape from xiapi (today's Xuzhou ancient PI) after assassinating Qin Shihuang. He met Huang Shigong at Diqiao and awarded Su Shu to him. Therefore, there is liuhou temple in xiapi, which is now a scenic spot of Diyuan. Zhang Liang is going to flee to Chu False King Jingju in LiuDi (belonging to Peixian County of Xuzhou). On the way, he met Liu Bang, the Duke of Pei, who was worshipped as a stable general. Liuxian also has liuhou temple, and then sank into Weishan Lake; During the battle between Chu and Han Dynasties, Zhang Liang "scattered Chu soldiers with a flute" in Jimingshan (zifangshan, Xuzhou) of Pengcheng. Later, it was called "the ancestral place of Zhang Tianshi" where Bu Shou hid himself. The liuhou temple in Xuzhou, also known as Zifang temple, is now the expansion of Dongshan temple. In his later years, Zhang Liang wanted to travel from chisongzi, and it is said that he once lived in seclusion at the foot of Zibai mountain As an ancient building from Ming Dynasty to Qing Dynasty, Hou Temple was approved by the State Council to be listed in the Sixth Batch of key cultural relics protection units in China in 2006.
Xuzhou liuhou temple is located in zifangshan, also known as Zifang temple.
Xuzhou as an ancient battlefield, eight hundred Li peaks, has always been a must for military strategists. Zifangshan, located in the northeast of the city, was formerly known as "Jimingshan". It is said that during the period of Chu and Han Dynasties, Zhang Liang skillfully used psychological attack in order to disintegrate the Chu army. He trained a group of flute players and made many large kites. Baskets were hung under the kites and the flute players were placed in them. Zhang Liang took command of Jiming mountain and took advantage of the wind to put the kite on the Chu army's position. For a moment, the flute was singing together. The sad sound of the flute aroused Xiang Yu's homesickness. Eight thousand children abandoned their armor and scattered. The Han army won without fighting. From then on, Jimingshan was renamed zifangshan.
In memory of Zhang Liang, zifangshan built a Zifang temple in the early years of Xuande in the Ming Dynasty, in which a statue of Zhang Liang was worshipped. Because Zhang Liang was named "liuhou", it was also called "liuhou Temple" among the people.
