Wu tombs stone Museum
Located in wuzhaishan, 10km south of Jiaxiang County, the stone carving Museum of Wu's tombs was built during the huanling period of the Eastern Han Dynasty. It is a group of stone carving buildings on the cemetery of Wu's family, a powerful landlord. The existing stone que, a pair of stone lions, two Han steles and 46 square stone carvings are the representative works of Han stone carvings. Together with the pyramids of ancient Egypt and the bottle paintings of ancient Greece, it is known as the "three wonders of the world" and is known as the "Encyclopedia" for the study of Chinese history. In 1961, it was announced by the State Council as the first batch of key cultural relics protection units in China.
Development history
Wu's ancestral hall is a group of stone decorated buildings on the ground of the tomb forest of Wu's powerful family in the late Eastern Han Dynasty (about 145-170 AD). After the Song Dynasty, it was silted by floods, excavated and sorted during the reign of Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty, and has been preserved to this day. A pair of stone lions with a height of 1.5 meters is located in the forest gate. It is the earliest art treasure of stone lion modeling recorded in the extant sculpture in China. The two lions hold their heads high, twist their necks, open their mouths and glare. Under the left foot of a lion, there is a lovely curly lion. Its simple and vivid artistic form, smooth and vivid lines, delicate brush and exquisite design are the first stone lion art treasures. A pair of 3.4-meter-high stone towers stand majestically, with mottled pictures on them. There are four ancestral halls and 44 stone carvings, which are magnificent and fascinating.
Collection
From the perspective of subject matter, the Han Dynasty stone carvings in Wu's ancestral hall can be roughly divided into three types: myths and legends, historical stories, and real life. They are widely collected, extensively hunted, and integrated into an encyclopedic picture of a mixture of myth, history, and reality. It dates back to the pre Qin Dynasty, merges the two Han Dynasties, carves the ancient paintings and reflects on the stone. It is dominated by Confucianism, complemented by Confucianism and Taoism, mixed with the five elements of Taoism and Taoism, and full of the characteristics of taking all the advantages. Together with Shiji, Hanfu, Huainan and other famous masterpieces, it has been leading in different fields, forming the spirit of the Great Han Empire.
Significance of scenic spots
The stone carvings of Wu's tombs truly represent the development level of politics, economy, culture and science and technology of that era. Whether it is history, art, education, music, dance, social interaction, or military, astronomy, calendar, medicine, architecture, transportation, water conservancy, textile, clothing, catering, manufacturing and other scientific and technological categories, we can find our own predecessors. The vivid pictures of the ten dynasties Empire, the land and water occupation, the image of Fuxi and Nuwa from Encyclopedia of China, the statue of Dayu from the United Nations Water Conservancy Museum, and Jingke assassinating King Qin from the ancient history textbook of colleges and universities show the glory of ancient art. In the history of Chinese painting, Pan Tianshou, a great master of Chinese painting, praised the Wu ancestral temple for its high, simple and luxuriant style. It is not imaginable. Although the image of the temple is not reasonable, it can express the state of things with its strong brush line, which makes it a unique style of a generation. It is beyond the reach of the Jin and Tang Dynasties
