Wulong Lake

Wulong lake is located at the foot of Wulong mountain in the middle reaches of Tangcun River, a tributary of JUNHE River and Yihe River system, 13 kilometers southwest of Pingyi County, Shandong Province. It was built in 1958, also known as Tangcun reservoir. Li Shimin, the king of the Tang Dynasty, was named after the historical legend that Li Shimin, the king of the Tang Dynasty, raised his troops here to stop his horse. In 2008, nearly 100 million yuan was invested in the reconstruction.

Historical function

Wulong lake, formerly known as Tangcun reservoir, is located in the upper reaches of JUNHE River, a tributary of Yihe River, 12 kilometers southwest of Pingyi County. The controlled drainage area is 263 square kilometers. The total storage capacity is 150 million cubic meters, and Xingli storage capacity is 58 million cubic meters. The reservoir project started in November 1958, and the dam, spillway, south water tunnel and other projects were completed on October 1, 1959. After the reservoir has been put into operation, it has successively completed the local renovation of the upstream slope protection, the heightening of the dam crest, the construction of the wave wall, the repair of the outer slope, the partial deepening and widening of the spillway, the construction of the diversion dike, the construction of the North water conveyance tunnel and the power station. By 1985, a total of 1.52 million cubic meters of earthwork, 470000 cubic meters of stonework and 18000 cubic meters of concrete had been completed in the reservoir project, with a total national investment of 9.16 million yuan.

The reservoir dam is a sand shell dam with clay core, 830m in length, 24.60m in maximum height and 6m in top width. The spillway is open with a maximum discharge of 2118 cubic meters per second. There are two water conveyance tunnels in the South and North. The maximum discharge of the south water conveyance tunnel is 14.50 cubic meters per second, and that of the north water conveyance tunnel is 25.10 cubic meters per second. The installed capacity of the hydropower station is 1655 kW.

The flood control capacity of the reservoir reaches once in a thousand years. On August 25, 1971, the flood peak was reduced by 88% in case of the maximum flood since the reservoir was built. The designed irrigation area of the reservoir irrigation area is 168000 mu, and the effective irrigation area is 100000 mu. The annual average generating capacity of the hydropower station is 875000 kwh.

Wulong lake is less than 10 kilometers away from the county. It is an artificial lake with a water storage capacity of 150 million cubic meters. Here green mountains and green waters, sunshine beach, a school of seaside style, is the famous Ganzhou water resort.

Wulong Lake won the title of "Water Conservancy Scenic Spot of Shandong Province" in September 2005, becoming one of the famous tourist attractions in Pingyi County. In the scenic area, there are not only the remains of Li Shimin, the king of Tang Dynasty, who raised his troops to rest horses, the temple of Wulong lake and other cultural landscapes, but also the seaside style sunshine beach, hotels, hotels and other leisure and entertainment facilities. The grand dam, 839 meters long and more than 40 meters high, traverses the north and south, just like the legendary five dragons lying in the vast expanse of blue waves, holding the beautiful and charming Five Dragon Lake day and night. The wide two-way asphalt highway on the dam crest leads directly to the county and villages, and connects with national highway, provincial highway and county highway.

In the northeast corner of the lake, there is an antique pavilion with beautiful wings. Standing on it, you can see that the waves are shining in Hunan and fishing boats are shuttling. If in summer, cool breeze, moist, silent, like a dip in the water of the dust swept over the heart, visitors feel cool. To the west of the lake is the apricot flower island. The apricot flowers are gorgeous when they bloom. There are pavilions and sheds on the island. In midsummer, the pavilions and sheds are filled with moist cool wind. Visitors can sit down on stone benches, or play chess, or play cards, or sit around with three or two confidants.
