Zangmei Temple
Zangmei temple, originally known as baiyun temple, is located in huilongwan village, Gu County Township, Yanshi County, Luoyang City, Henan Province. It gets its name from its back to Baiyun Mountain. In the old days, incense flourished and the scale was grand. There were four courtyards and four heavenly kings' halls on the first floor. There was a statue of Huang Chao sitting on the east wall of the hall, wearing helmets and armor. According to the records of Gongxian County, when the Huangchao uprising of Tang Dynasty attacked Chang'an in the west, troops were stationed here and holes were dug to store grain. To this day, there are old names such as parade platform, training ground and yinmaquan nearby. The second floor hall is for Maitreya Buddha. The third floor is the main hall for Sakyamuni Buddha. The last floor is the monk's residence. Zangmei temple is located in the Qinglong River Valley, with beautiful peaks, streams, lush trees and quiet beauty.
Historical evolution
There are several ancient steles in the temple. According to the inscription on the Mountain Gate of baiyun temple in 1776, "in the 39th year of Qianlong reign, a stone pillar was occasionally found in the north of the temple, and the emperor's year number was engraved on it..." It can be seen that the temple existed as early as the kaihuang period of Emperor Wen of Sui Dynasty (581-600 years). Zangmei temple is located in the Qinglong River Valley, with beautiful peaks, streams, lush trees and quiet beauty. In 1991, all walks of life raised funds to rebuild the temple, so that the barren Temple re established two three room wide glazed tile hard mountain style halls, and there was an old nun abbot.
Legend
Baiyun temple is commonly known as zangmei temple. There is a legend about this name. It is said that Huang Chao, the leader of the peasant uprising army in history, once lived in seclusion in this temple before he started his army. In this secluded temple, he practiced writing and martial arts all day long and organized troops. In his busy schedule, he likes to practice calligraphy every day. A little monk named Mei Bai was very attentive and always gave Huang Chao inkstones. Mei Baimu didn't know Ding. Seeing that Huang Chao often wrote on paper, she curiously asked Huang Chao, "master, how many miles do you keep in your diary?" Huang Chao said, "write down the people I will kill in the future." "Do you have me?" Meibai became more and more curious. Huang Chao joked: "yes, the first one is you!" Meibai was shocked: "are you kidding? I serve you all day long, can't you not kill me?" Huang Chao said with a smile: "yes, but you have to hide for a while on the seventh day of the first month."
On the seventh day of the first month, Mei Bai believed it and began to look for a place to hide. Where to hide? He saw an ancient pagoda tree in front of the temple. Its body was dry and its heart was empty. He thinks it's best to hide here!
This is the day when the brothers of the peasants started an incident. Huang Chao came out of the temple with his sword. He thought that from today on, he would leave the temple and wander around the world. Excited, he roared and raised his sword to chop at the ancient locust tree. With the sound, a bloody head rolled out. Huang Chao was so surprised that he went to see it and said sadly, "poor little Mei Bai! You really will take my knife."
In memory of xiaomeibai, Huangchao later rebuilt the temple and changed the name of baiyun temple to cangmei temple.
