Shaanxi Lane
From the reign of Emperor Qianlong to 1949, there were first-class Qingyin classes in Shaanxi alleys. Qingyin small class is not only a meat business, they are more to accompany guests to tea, banquets, playing and singing, playing music and lyrics.
Famous Peking opera artists who once lived in Shaanxi Lane include Zhang Zixian, Kong Yuanfu, Bai Yunsheng, Zhu Guifang, Liu Jiqing, Li Yannong, Su Yuqing, Shen Yubin, Zhang Tianyuan, Chen Lanxian, Chen Zhixiang, Lu Shengkui, Hou Yongkui, Dong Wen and Dong Fengyan.
Prostitutes in old Beijing can be divided into "South class" and "North class". The women in Yangzhou, Suzhou and Hangzhou have high cultural quality. They are good at both color and art. They can play piano, chess, calligraphy, painting, Sheng, Guan, Si and Xian. They have a little knowledge of poetry, and most of them can make good dishes. The women in the "North class" to the north of the Yellow River are far too poor. Saijinhua and xiaofengxian are all Nanban women (yunguban, where xiaofengxian lives, is located at No.22 Shaanxi lane, now Shaanxi Lane Hotel).

One of the eight Hutongs
There are restaurants, bathhouses, drugstores, teahouses and opium shops. Naturally, there are poor sewing, fortune tellers, rag collectors and talkers. Yuan Kewen, the second son of Yuan Shikai, and Yang Du, the famous scholar, Cai E, the governor of Yunnan, and Yi Changheng, the governor of Sichuan. When Cao Kun ran for president in 1923, the price of the vote was set in the Qingyin class of the eight hutongs.
Saijinhua's yixiangyuan is the dormitory of Beijing leather company. There are seven families.
Shaanxi lane is located in Dashilan street community, Xuanwu District, Beijing. It is a north-south Hutong, starting from Zhushikou West Street in the south to tieshuxie street in the north, with a total length of about 500 meters.
Shaanxi lane has a long history. According to the records of Xu Ying's sketches of Beijing Hutong, in the early Ming Dynasty, a large number of merchants gathered in qianmenwai area to attract merchants and buy goods. Many Shaanxi timber merchants gathered in this lane to hoard wood, so it was named Shaanxi lane. In modern times, with the prosperity of the culture in the south of Beijing, it became one of the most prosperous places in the south of Beijing at that time. When it comes to the bustling place of old Beijing's South City, there is a saying: "Qianmen Street, Dashilan, stone Hutong, Shaanxi lane". When you visit Shaanxi lane, you can still see that most of the buildings on both sides are two-story green brick buildings (at that time, most of them were opera gardens, tea houses or brothels), and now they are mostly civilian houses or hotels.
The well preserved one is the "deshoutang" drugstore on the west side of the south entrance of the Hutong, which is a front shop back factory building. This drugstore is also one of the time-honored brands with a long history in Beijing. Its main products are "Niuhuang Jiedu pill", "Dashanzha pill" and various traditional Chinese medicine "Wan San Gao Dan".
As the earliest self-employed Market Street in Beijing after the reform and opening up, especially since the 1990s, there was a memorial archway named "Shannxi alley stall market" in Nankou. During this period, there were all kinds of stall vendors gathered, which was one of the busiest Hutong in Beijing at that time. Of course, since the beginning of the 21st century, Beijing has carried out unified management of scattered vendors, coupled with the old city reconstruction of Liangguang Street (Guanganmen Guangqumen), a large number of old residents have moved out, and now Shaanxi lane has gradually lost its former prosperity.
Place names of Hengyang City, Hunan Province
In the section of Zhongshan North Road, shushigu District, Hengyang, it was named after the Shaanxi guild hall in history.
What is a guild hall? "Cihai" explains: "institutions set up by people of the same origin or industry in the capital and major cities have halls for the gathering and lodging of fellow villagers."
The rudiment of the guild hall began in the Han Dynasty. At that time, the place where local officials and scholars lived in the capital was called the county residence. In the Yongle period of Ming Dynasty, there was a guild hall with a definite name.
In Ming and Qing Dynasties, the continuous development of politics, economy, culture and commodity economy, the imperial examination system and the flow of population contributed to the birth and prosperity of Guildhall.
Generally speaking, the guild hall can be divided into three types: one is the residence of the officials and gentry Qiao; the other is the residence of the officials and gentry and the imperial examination scholars; the third is the residence of the imperial examination scholars in Beijing. Later, the merchants also set foot in the Guildhall, and the Guildhall became a place where the merchants of the same nationality gathered for business.
Presumably, Hengyang is not the only place for Shaanxi people to go to Beijing for exams. Therefore, the Shaanxi guild hall in Siqian street should be an industrial and commercial one.
In 1949, after the liberation of Hengyang, Shaanxi lane was renamed Jingting street. I don't know what the allusion is. In the cultural revolution, it was changed to three lanes of Hongqi Road, and the original name of Shaanxi lane was restored in 1981
