Couplet
Outside the elephant, there are mountains on all sides and water on both sides;
Air structure, eight manpower, two days.
This is a couplet written by the ancients in the Tianxian Temple of Changlong mountain. It is very magical from the landform to the architectural style. Changlongshan Temple of immortals is indeed a wonderland of immortals.
position
Changlong mountain originates from the Qinling Mountains and is the afterblood of Daba Mountain. According to folklore, Changlong mountain is the place where the first emperor of Qin whipped the mountain into the sea for one night. Driving the mountain from Qinling Mountains, it will block the Qutang gorge of the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River. Guanyin Bodhisattva, in order to save all living beings and avoid disasters, crows like a rooster. When the first emperor heard the rooster crow, he angrily whipped the mountain, and the mountain stopped, leaving the remains of "Zhalong Ya" and "Jiming Dian". Changlong mountain stretches for tens of miles. It is narrow and steep, which is called strange. It's just like a dragon. It's a giant dragon holding its head high on the cliff. Standing at the dragon's head, the two streams surround the dragon. The surrounding mountains are arched, with green pines and waves of pines. There is a faint image of four mountains arched. If the rain is over, the sky is clear and the clouds are shrouded, it's like a giant dragon tossing and swallowing the clouds, and it's a great sight in East Chongqing. In 1997, it was approved as "changlongshan scenic spot" by Fengjie County People's government.
history
Changlongshan Temple of immortals, with a long history and world-famous, is a Taoist holy land with tens of thousands of square kilometers at the junction of Eastern Chongqing, southern Shaanxi and Western Hubei, enjoying the reputation of "Sichuan Wudang". According to folklore, Princess Pingyang, the daughter of emperor Ping of the Han Dynasty, was exiled here to avoid war. When she met the grass bandits, she conquered them by force. Looking at the terrain here, you can find the way to become an immortal. Later, Emperor Guangwu of Han Dynasty posthumously named her Princess Tianxian. In order to commemorate the fairy princess, people donate money to build the temple of immortals and worship it for a long time.
Tianxian temple stands above the dragon head of Changlong mountain. Therefore, Guanmen couplet said: "four mountains, high clouds as the top, two rivers grab temple in the middle.". It remains to be proved when the temple of immortals was founded. According to the records of Kuizhou capital by Daoguang of Qing Dynasty, "the view is on the top of Changlong mountain, sharp on the top and round on the bottom. The shape is like a hat, and the left and right sides and the back are empty. The two streams encircle each other. The pavilions are independent, and the spiral is about 10 Li above the top. When it reaches the top of the mountain, the front and the ridge are one or two Li apart. Most of the stones are in the shape of dragon scales. At the end of the mountain, there is a peak. At the back of the peak is Tianxian temple, where the old family lives and worships Zhenwu's ancestors Extremely miraculous, year-old snow Lord sweep hall. From September 1 to September 9, the incense is very popular, and it's time to stay here. In the early days of Jiaqing, it was destroyed by the bandits, and later it was built by raising money. It is also said that Professor Zhu Youfu of Kuizhou prefecture has Ji Yun: "I don't know where the Tianxian temple was founded. At the beginning of Jiaqing, it was destroyed by the bandits, and after that, it was raised again, so the rules are not great.". The temple stele was repaired many times during the reign of Daoguang and Xianfeng. In 1894, it was burned by fire and restored the next year. In 1926, the hall was rebuilt. The architectural skills of the temple of immortals can be called excellent. The building area of the temple of immortals is about 600 square meters, but the skillful craftsmen fly over the "Wangjiang tower" on the basis of less than 300 square meters. Taking the stone as the outline, the stone as the fence, the stone masonry as the hall, and the triple main hall with the steps up, the hall is just like, majestic and spectacular, the room is spacious and flat, tall and grand, and connected with each other. Inside and outside the building, the inner room is the guest room for people to rest, and the outer layer is the outline for people to look at. It's like a pavilion in the clouds. In the 29th year of the Republic of China (1940), the garrison besieged the yindao society headed by Liu baiwo, who occupied the temple of immortals. The temple was destroyed by gunfire, and the Wangjiang building disappeared. In 1943, Wang chuheng and his son advocated the donation and reconstruction, but the scale was not as large as before. After liberation, there was still a Taoist abbot. During the great leap forward, the forests of Changlong mountain, including the pine and cypress planted by Wang daoren a hundred years ago, were destroyed. In the "Cultural Revolution", the concept of immortality was completely destroyed. After the reform and opening up, some people built small temples, and there were still many believers worshiping them on the first and tenth day of junior high school, especially during the meeting. In 1995, the people's Government of Fengjie county approved the resumption of opening up and established the "Fengjie County Magistrate Longshan Tianxian Temple Management Committee". Li Zhisheng and Chen Mingsheng, the Taoists, were the directors and masters of the building. They raised more than 2 million yuan to build Tianxian hall, Zhenwu hall, Sanqing hall, Zhaitang hall, Daoshi house, Jushi house, Mountain Gate, stone terrace and uphill road. The total building area of the hall is 4100 square meters, of which the Sanqing hall and Tianxian hall are 380 square meters, and the stone ladder is 1000 meters long, with more than 3000 levels. So far, the temple of immortals has been revived with a new look.
legend
Changlongshan Temple of immortals contains rich connotation of Taoist culture, and has a wide range of mass belief. The stone carvings, stone carvings, couplets and other gold and stone relics in the temple are rich, elegant and well-made, which are treasures of Chinese culture. For thousands of years, men and women of faith have evolved into immortals for the sake of good weather, family safety, good luck, and so on. For example, according to the records of Kuizhou Prefecture by Daoguang of Qing Dynasty, grandmaster Zhang Sanfeng traveled around Fengjie in the early Ming Dynasty and lived in Changlong mountain for three days. Then he came to the county seat and spent seven days with Guanghai monk of Kaiyuan Temple talking about Buddhism and Taoism. He left three pieces of aloes, a pair of straw sandals and a poem. The poem says:
Go deep into the floating picture to judge the world, and extravagance is just the same.
The smallpox is faint, the wind and leaves are singing, and people are riding.
The secret room is covered with idle clouds, and the empty Pavilion is lit by the quiet moon at night.
The soul disappears and the shadow disperses. Who can see the old monk everywhere.
Later, Guanghai monk presented poetry and two things to Emperor Wen, and was granted a jade ring and a thousand Buddha cassock. Although there is no textual research on the founding date of the temple of immortals in changlongshan, it is well-known in the Jiaqing period of the Qing Dynasty. From the pure sense of the worship of fairy princess Temple evolved into the worship of Laojun, Yuhuang, Zhenwu Taoist temple. No matter how the historical situation changes, changlongshan immortal Temple always kindly pays attention to the bitterness and happiness of the human world, which is related to all kinds of cause and effect and mutual promise of the local elites.
present situation
Since the restoration and opening up of the temple, incense has become more and more popular. In the past five years, it has received nearly 500000 guests from home and abroad, with a maximum of nearly 10000 people per day. In the new century, with its magnificent natural landscape and rich cultural heritage, Changlong mountain will surely become the first Taoist temple in Eastern Chongqing and the Three Gorges area of the Yangtze River, and the famous Taoist Holy Land in the junction of Chongqing, Shaanxi and Hubei, thanks to the unremitting support of believers and the spirit of perseverance and advocating Taoism.
