Shengjing Grand Theater is located in Shenyang, China, formerly known as Shenyang Culture and Art Center, with a total construction area of about 85000 square meters and a shape similar to a diamond. The main building is mainly composed of 1800 seat comprehensive theater, 1200 seat concert hall and 500 seat multi-function hall. The foundation works will be completed by the end of 2010, the main structure will be capped by the end of 2011, the interior and exterior decoration works will be completed by the end of 2012, and will be put into use on October 1, 2014.

Building data

The project is another landmark building in Shenyang after Shenyang Olympic Sports Center. Shenyang Culture and Art Center is located in the west of Wuai Hunhe tunnel, east of Youth Street, north of Hunhe River and south of the Second Ring Road, covering an area of about 65000 square meters.

After completion, the scale of Shenyang Culture and Art Center is unprecedented, which will greatly make up for the lack of cultural performance venues in Shenyang. In the design, from the perspective of large outline, there are mainly three parts: Diamond appearance, platform and base. According to the plan, the total building area of Shenyang Culture and Art Center is about 85000 square meters, including 67000 square meters of main building area and 18000 square meters of building area under the large platform. The main building has one floor underground and seven floors above the ground, with a total height of 60 meters. In addition to the three spaces of comprehensive theater, concert hall and multi-function hall, the overall building of Shenyang Culture and Art Center also includes more than 3000 square meters of underground garage and more than 30000 square meters of ancillary rooms. Many art performances can be held here, such as dance drama, drama, opera, ballet, concert, fashion show, comprehensive party and so on. After precise acoustic calculation, the performance effect here can be compared with that of the National Grand Theater.

Shenyang Culture and Art Center is "diamond" in shape, with a steel skeleton of over 10000 tons and a diamond facade of 30000 square meters. The 10000 ton skeleton has been built, which is composed of 36 groups of embedded steel parts, 26 cast steel joints, 89 main members of steel structure and 576 secondary members. Among them, the most recast steel joint is 103 tons, which is a special super large and overweight joint, and its application in domestic building steel structure engineering is extremely rare.

On the surface, "diamond" needs to complete the overall installation of more than 30000 square meters of glass curtain wall. After completion, the outside of the whole building looks like a giant drill with 64 cutting surfaces. Each side is composed of 400 triangular glass plates, a total of 25600 pieces of glass are required. Among them, the largest glass covers an area of 1231 square meters, some of which weigh more than 1000 Jin. According to reports, four layers of double insulating glass are selected for the center's "drilling surface" to increase the brightness of the "diamond" and make the "giant diamond" look more transparent and beautiful.

In addition to buses, Metro Line 2 has a station (Wulihe station) near Shengjing Grand Theater. After getting out of the station, pedestrians can directly reach the audience hall on the second floor from the platform. It is understood that Shengjing Grand Theater will use 16 elevators and 8 escalators. Among them, piano freight elevator is set at the north entrance to the stage floor of the concert hall; four sightseeing elevators are set on the first floor to reach the comprehensive theater building and the concert hall; four fire elevators serve the audience and performers respectively and reach the basement; two passenger elevators from the basement to the top floor; two stage work passenger and freight elevators; three passenger elevators from the basement to the first floor are multi-function hall performers and comprehensive theater musicians Team service. At the same time, it also provides services for the disabled, the elderly and other vulnerable groups. In the overall design, the longitudinal gradient of sidewalks at all levels of roads in the plot of Shengjing Grand Theater is not more than 2.5%, and wheelchair ramps are set when the sidewalks have steps. The sidewalk at the main entrance is provided with curb ramp; the sidewalk is provided with blind path; the parking lot is provided with barrier free parking space; the barrier free elevator goes directly to the large platform with an elevation of 7.5m. In addition, Shenyang Culture and Art Center is designed as barrier free at the entrance and public corridor of the building, with two elevators from the first floor to the top floor, and barrier free toilets in public toilets. Wheelchair seats are set up in the comprehensive theater and concert hall.

Floor usage

Shenyang Shengjing Grand Theater has three floors and eight mezzanine. Inside: seven floors above the ground and one floor underground have their own functions.

The first floor of the building is the auxiliary room, equipment room and underground garage of the comprehensive theater and multi-function hall.

Ground floor: comprehensive theater, multi-function hall with 500 seats and public hall. Among them, a ticketing center is set up in the public hall, which combines the comprehensive theater, concert hall, multi-function hall, etc. a variety of art forms are fully exchanged and integrated here.

Two floors above ground: it is the floor of the entrance shared hall and comprehensive theater. The first floor, second floor and mezzanine spaces are connected by escalators, patios, sightseeing elevators, etc., so as to facilitate the audience to reach their destination. They can also enjoy leisure and sightseeing in the shared hall.

Basement 1: band rest room, comprehensive theater stage warehouse and auxiliary room, multi-function platform warehouse and auxiliary room, equipment room, underground garage, etc.

Three floors above ground: comprehensive theater building supporting room, stage space, shared space and crystal glass shell maintenance structure, etc.

Four floors above ground: over the stage of comprehensive theater, office, conference center, equipment room of concert hall, shared space and maintenance structure of diamond shaped glass shell, etc.

Five floors above ground: dressing room of concert hall, auxiliary room of concert hall, rehearsal and rest hall of band, over the back stage of comprehensive theater, shared space and glass shell maintenance structure of diamond shape, etc.

Six floors above ground: Concert Hall, office and auxiliary rooms, over the main stage of the comprehensive theater, large rehearsal hall, shared space and diamond shaped glass shell maintenance structure, etc.

Seven floors above the ground: rehearsal hall, organ room, shared space and diamond shaped glass shell maintenance structure. Some equipment rooms, staff canteens, kitchens and parking spaces under the 7.5m platform.

Comprehensive Theater: watching Ballet

Shengjing Grand Theater is located in the building from the first floor to the fourth floor above the ground. The audience can enter the first or second floor auditorium through the outdoor square or the outdoor platform. After holding or purchasing tickets, the audience can reach the designated seating area through various ways such as open stairs, vertical elevators, escalators or closed stairs in the hall under the guidance of indoor signs according to their different seating areas.

In order to take into account the comfort of the audience, the depth of each row of the pool seat and the floor is nearly 1 meter, that is to say, even if a big man of more than 1.8 meters sits here, he will not feel uncomfortable.

Concert Hall: listen to symphony

In the functional layout of the concert hall, the concert hall is divided into several functional areas, the front area is the performance area, the audience front hall, the VIP rest area, the disabled waiting area, etc.; the back area is divided into performance room, rehearsal training room, props handling channel, administrative business room and other supporting facilities. The rest are equipment rooms.

The auditorium covers an area of more than 200 square meters, of which the maximum width of the stage is 20 meters and the depth is 15 meters. It can accommodate the performances of a 120 person four pipe Orchestra and a 120 person large chorus. It is a professional place for playing large-scale symphonies and folk music.

Multi function hall: real "multi function"

The multi-function hall of Shengjing Grand Theater is located at the entrance of the Grand Theater, which forms the "Hall" interface for the audience to enter the hall together with the Grand Theater. After the audience enters the glass hall through the outdoor platform, they will find that the top of the multi-function hall will form the effect of layer upon layer retreating from the stage, creating the best feeling of "seeing" in addition to "listening" in the music hall for the visitors.

The multi-function hall is divided into three main parts: audience performance hall, audience rest hall and auxiliary room. The "multi-function" of the auditorium is realized by the flexible and variable seat arrangement. The designer has arranged 15 mechanical units which can rotate up and down at the same time in the auditorium, each of which can hide the seats to form the stage surface of various materials, including "t" stage, drama stage, cinema mode, small theater mode and banquet hall mode.

In addition, the designer has installed intelligent power on dimming glass on the stage wall facing Hunhe River in the multi-function hall, which can change the transparent state of the glass through the action of electric field. One of them is that under normal conditions, the glass is transparent, and the VIP in the multi-function hall can enjoy the outdoor scenery of Hunhe river while communicating, or when watching the performance, the transparent background gives the audience a special feeling of being outside. When you need a white background wall, just press the switch that can apply about 9 V electric field, the glass is no longer transparent and acts as the background wall.
