At present, it is a cultural relic protection unit in Heping District of Tianjin city and a historic building of key protection level. It is now the joint office of the Special Commissioner Office of the General Administration of Customs in Tianjin, Tianjin Branch of China Customs Association and Tianjin Customs declaration Association.
history
In 1860, the British and French allied forces launched the second Opium War and conquered Tianjin. The Qing government was forced to sign the "Treaty of Beijing" to make Tianjin a port for foreign trade. On March 23, 1861 (February 12, the 11th year of Xianfeng in the Qing Dynasty), Tianjin established the "Tianjin Customs". In 1869, Jinhai pass moved to the current site of the French concession in Tianjin and was called zizhulin new pass. Li Hongzhang, governor of Zhili, once inscribed a plaque for Tianjin Customs. After that, the building underwent three large-scale expansion. In 1976, Tangshan earthquake damaged part of the building, and then carried out rescue reinforcement.

The former site of Tianjin Customs is located in Yingkou Road, Heping District. It covers an area of 2400 square meters and a building area of 4200 square meters. It is a two-story mixed structure building. There are towering vertical signs and main entrance at the corner of the building.
