brief introduction
On July 9, 1900, Nie Shicheng led his troops to fight bravely against the Allied forces of the eight countries. Because he was outnumbered, he was surrounded by the Japanese army. He still fought fiercely with the enemy for two hours. At last, the company hit several bullets and died for his country. In 1905, the Qing government set up a monument to commemorate it, with the posthumous title of "Zhong Jie". The front of the monument is engraved with the words "Nie Zhongjie was martyred". On the columns on both sides of the monument are engraved with the words "bravely and fiercely passing through Changhong, thinking of the time when the horse was wrapped up in the body, a piece of pure heart and patience flew to the sea in anger; sincerely leaving blue blood, watching today's insect sand calendar robbery, the three armies' white bone elegy, Yuefu fighting in the south of the city", and the banner is "awe inspiring".
Nie Shicheng
Nie Shicheng, Zi GONGTING, was born in BEIXIANG, Hefei, Anhui Province. Born in Daoguang period of Qing Dynasty, Wu Tong was born. When he was young, his father died and his family was poor. Nie Shicheng has always been a chivalrous and righteous man since he was a child. Once a merchant surnamed Xia was chased and killed by bandits. Nie's mother managed to hide him and survived. Nie treated each other warmly and became friends after returning home. Soon after, Xia abandoned the merchant to join the army and became a member of the three Yuan Jia divisions of the Xiang army. In the ninth year of Xianfeng (1859), he was promoted to garrison officer in linhuai pass. He wrote a letter to invite NIE to join the army. Since then, Nie Shicheng joined the army and began his military career for 40 years.
Nie Shicheng joined the army when the Qing government suppressed the Nien uprising. He was replaced as the general manager because of his bravery. When Li Hongzhang founded the Huai army, Nie Shicheng was transferred to the Huai department because of his native place, and was subordinate to Liu Mingchuan, the commander-in-chief of the Huai army. Later, he moved to the commander-in-chief and the commander-in-chief because he had made many achievements in suppressing the Nien army in the East and the west, and was awarded the name of Liyong batuluyong. Together with Wang Xiaoqi and Zhang Gaoyuan, he was named as the three generals of the Huai army. In 1884, when the French army invaded Taiwan, Nie Shicheng was ordered to lead his troops across the sea to help Taiwan and defeated the French army several times. After the defeat of the French army out of Taiwan, Nie Shicheng was transferred to Beiyang and led the Qing army to Lushun. In 1891, after the great reading of Beiyang Navy, Nie Shicheng was transferred to Lutai to command the Huai and training armies. During his term of office, he successfully suppressed the Rehe "cult bandit" uprising, captured and beheaded Yang Yuechun, the "bandit leader", and was given a yellow mandarin jacket. Yi Yong was named baturona. Later, he was transferred to the chief of Taiyuan town, Shanxi Province, and remained in Lutai to run the army. Nie Shicheng often led a light horse to patrol the borders of the three eastern provinces, investigate the terrain, and draw a map of the dangerous mountains and rivers on the border between China, Russia and North Korea, and the garrison distribution of neighboring countries, so as to know each other. After the East learning party uprising broke out in North Korea and Japan sent troops to North Korea on a large scale, Li Hongzhang, Minister of the northern ocean, ordered Nie Shicheng and his department to go to North Korea with Ye Zhichao. Because Nie Shicheng was strict in military management and had a good command, and he himself took the lead in fighting the enemy bravely, Nie's Department was different from the general army of the Qing Dynasty in the Sino Japanese War of 1894 Li Tidu (Ye Zhichao, the former Zhili Tidu, was decapitated in the Sino Japanese War of 1894-1895). After the signing of the Treaty on the defeat of Maguan in the Sino Japanese War of 1894-1895, the Qing government reformed the military system of the army and trained the new army. The Beiyang army in Zhili was changed into the Wuwei army. The 30th battalion of Mabu army under Nie Shicheng's command was trained according to the German military law and was organized as the Wuyi army. It was stationed in Lutai as the former army of Wuwei, and was called the Fourth Army of Wuwei together with Song Qing, Dong Fuxiang and Yuan Shikai's command. Before its restoration in 1984, only seven words were left in the inscription, "Nie Zhongjie died in the place where he was in trouble.". Nie Shicheng, a native of Hefei, Anhui Province, was born in the reign of Daoguang in the Qing Dynasty. After the invasion of China by the Allied forces of the eight powers in 1900, Nie Shicheng led his troops to guard Tianjin. On July 5, Nie's army and the boxers worked together to besiege the zizhulin concession and fought fiercely with the enemy for eight days and nights. 7. In the early morning of the 9th, 6 000 people of the eight countries' allied forces began to fight back against the Nie army stationed in Balitai. Because of the great disparity of forces, the Nie army was surrounded by the Allied forces. Nie Shicheng calmly commanded and fought with the Allied forces for more than two hours. Later, due to the lack of ammunition, Nie Shicheng led his troops to break through to the vicinity of Balitai. At this time, Nie Shicheng's legs were injured and his battalion officer song Zhan was killed When Biao urged him to step down, Nie Shicheng bravely leaped across the bridge and stood up to supervise the battle. He said to the left and right, "this is my fatal place. It's not my husband who goes beyond this step!" Before his words were heard, a shell exploded nearby. Nie Shicheng was hit in the abdomen by shrapnel, and his intestines flowed out of the body for several inches. Nie Shicheng was still standing still. At this time, he was shot through his head and chest again. Nie junmen were covered with blood and died for his country.
Nie Shicheng fought bravely and unyielding. He was praised by the Qing army and awed by the Allied forces. According to the records of outsiders, "although the Chinese army is heavy, it is not enough to worry about. Those who can be feared are the ears of Nie's army. The Gai Nie army has advance and no retreat, and is the first of all the armies. Although they are shot, the former is killed, and the latter is advanced again. Its ferocity is incomparable with other armies." Later, a monument was set up at the place where Nie Shicheng died. On the monument, it was engraved: "bravely and fiercely run through Changhong, thinking of the time when Ma Ge wrapped his body, a piece of heart turned into a raging wave and flew to the sea; loyal and loyal, leaving blue blood, looking at the insect, sand and calendar looting here, white bones and Elegy of the three armed forces, Yuefu fighting in the south of the city." The banner is "dignified". In 1905, the Qing government set up a monument to commemorate it, with the posthumous title of "Zhong Jie".
