It flew in Auckland, USA, with a height of 25 feet and a range of 2640 feet, revealing the first page in China's aviation history. Unfortunately, he died in a flying show on August 25, 1922, and his body was buried in Huanghua Mountain. The former is the stone tablet of "the tomb of Feng Junru, the founder of Chinese flying", and the later is the stone tablet of Sun Yat Sen's order to grant a pension to Feng Ru's family members and publicize his deeds to the National Museum of history.
Profile
Feng Ru, China's first aircraft designer, was born in Enping County, Guangdong Province. At the age of 22, she was forced to go to San Francisco with her relatives to make a living. After learning that the Wright brothers invented the plane in 1903, Feng Ru was determined to rely on the strength of the Chinese to make the plane. Sponsored by the local overseas Chinese, he set up an aircraft manufacturing plant in Auckland east of San Francisco in 1907, and formally established Guangdong aircraft company in 2909, with Feng Ru as chief engineer. The company started manufacturing airplanes that year. On September 22, 1909, near dusk, Feng Ru made his first test flight near a round hill near Auckland, a place far away from residential areas. Besides reporters, his three assistants were present. After the plane took off, it flew 08km and 457m above the ground to make a turn. The propeller suddenly stopped and the plane fell to the ground. Fortunately, Feng Ru was not injured. The cause of the accident is that the screw of the propeller shaft is too tight and the propeller root is broken.
