Sewu Temple

Sewusi is located in sewugou, labupu Township, Nanmulin County, Xigaze Prefecture, Tibet. It is 70 kilometers away from the county residence, with an altitude of 4800 meters. Sewu temple is the largest Ningma sect's chufa Mitha temple in Tibet. It is also one of the largest places for master lianhuasheng to practice. The main Buddha is the three lotus Buddhas.

The temple has a history of 1000 years. It believes in Ningma sect. It once had a great Sutra hall and 11 halls. The main Buddha was master lianhuasheng. In 1984, on the ruins of the original temple, the great Sutra hall and nine halls were restored for the three Buddhas of lianhuasheng. There are 16 treasures in the temple, including the three statues of lianhuasheng, the shoes of Karmapa, the Vajra pestle of konxingmu yixijiacuo, the black stone, the right-handed conch, and the fingerprints of lianhuasheng's right hand left on the stone, etc. There are three Zen houses and practice caves on the palm mountain to the north of the temple. Every year, from December 22 to 30 of the Tibetan calendar, the temple holds a god skipping and ghost expelling ceremony.

history

Sewu temple, built under the leadership of Zhengshi dianniangdan, has a history of more than 1000 years. There used to be a large Sutra hall, eleven halls and more than 150 monks in the temple, who were dedicated to master lotus peanuts.

Sewu temple was destroyed in the "ten year catastrophe". In 1984, the state funded the restoration of the great Sutra hall and nine halls on the ruins of the original temple. There are three statues of lianhuasheng's master and apprentice, as well as the practice cave of yixicuojie (the concubine of long songdezan, the king of Tibet, who later worshipped lianhuasheng as a teacher and became a famous female Tantra master in the history of Tibetan Tantra). There are 68 monks and four bhiksunis.

There are 16 precious cultural relics in the temple, including three gold and bronze statues of lianhuasheng, shoes of Karmapa, xijingang peg of kongyingmu yixicuojie, jiugu Jingang pestle and Wugu black stone right-handed conch excavated by the witness Quni nangdan from fuzanggu, and the fingerprints of lianhuasheng's right hand on the stone head. In the southwest of the temple stands a Jade Pagoda. It is said that the pagoda was transported here from India. Inside the pagoda is the fingerprints left by master lotus peanuts on the stone. In the north of the temple, there are three Buddhist temples and practice caves on the South palm mountain. Every year from December 22 to 30 of the Tibetan calendar, the temple holds a god dance (the dance of monks offering sacrifices) and Exorcism ceremony.

Sewu temple is located in sewu valley. The scenery of sewugou is beautiful. The mountains and fields are covered with shrubs, flowers and plants. The surrounding mountains are in various shapes, such as swords, walls, birds and animals, figures, like a beautiful picture. The end of the ditch extends to the southeast to the foot of Gongga Mountain, and the end of the ditch extends to the northwest to langalangqiong village. The whole ditch is like the genitalia of kongmudusum. Master lianhuasheng once practiced in sewugou for 13 years, where he hid many sutras, magic weapons, jewelry, etc. He is one of the most famous hidden valleys in Tibet. Therefore, this ditch is the sacred mountain in the eyes of Buddhists. According to legend, if you can hear the name of sewugou, you will be able to enjoy it (one of the ten places of Mahayana Bodhisattva); if you can touch the land, rocks and trees of sewugou, you will be able to eliminate disasters and avoid evil.
