Lailong Bridge
Lailongqiao is located on the moat (the source of Zhupi River) between xichengmen and Wenming Lake in Jingmen ancient city. It is under the jurisdiction of Longquan sub district office, Dongbao District, Jingmen City, Hubei Province.
This bridge was built by Lu Jiuyuan, the Zhijun of Jingmen in the Southern Song Dynasty, when he built the ancient city of Jingmen. It was named Xiqiao. Later, because of mountain torrents and war, it was gradually dilapidated. After Shu Chenglong, the governor of Jingmen Prefecture, took office in Jingmen, after investigation, he thought that "the West Bridge is the place where Jingmen comes to the dragon. Without the West Bridge, there is no state governance.". After a period of preparation, in 1746 A.D., Ning Shaoyin, a native of the state, was appointed to supervise the construction and repair of the bridge. Construction began in March 1746, and was completed and put into use in July 1752. The bridge costs 500 gold. It is a single hole bluestone arch bridge. The bridge is four feet long, two feet wide and six feet high. After the bridge was built, Shu Chenglong named it "Lailong bridge". The bridge is not only convenient for pedestrians, but also can be used to show that the hidden dragon of Jingmen is about to fly from here. At the same time, it is also because the West Chengmen gate of Zhoucheng is the location of Longquan Academy. It is also the cradle of the cultivation of the imperial family and the officials, and it is the place where the hidden dragon lies and the tiger lies.
The name of lailongqiao is enough to show Shu Chenglong's ambition, great ambition, hard work, revitalization of Jingmen, and the good wish of Jingmen rising and taking off in Jingchu. Since the completion of Lailong bridge, people come and go, the pier is solid and intact, still maintaining the majestic and heavy feeling of that year.
There is also a Lailong bridge in Shanghai. In Luoxi Park, Baoshan is a protected building! It is an ancient bridge built in Qing Dynasty
