Guangxu 23 years in December (January 1898) was completed and opened. At the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, the French missionary erau, who was in charge of the Tang tomb bridge Parish, donated a large sum of money left by his mother when she died to the Diocese of Shanghai. Bishop Ni huailun used the money to build the Tang tomb bridge hall, and the queen Chong Gu gave 14 mu of land as the foundation. It is the largest church in Pudong, Shanghai, with its magnificent architectural style of Gothic. The bell tower is 30 meters high and can accommodate about 3000 people.
In 1903, Pope Pius x granted "total amnesty" to pilgrims, confessors and lords. Notre Dame Church in Lude, the tomb bridge of Tang Dynasty, became the second Catholic pilgrimage site in May after Notre Dame hall in Sheshan. The hall was once the seat of Pudong zongduo district.
