Yuqing Road
Yuqing road is a street in Xuhui District of Shanghai. It runs from Huaihai middle road in the north to Hengshan Road in the south. It is 768 meters long and 15 to 16 meters wide.
Yuqing Road, formerly known as route Edan, was built by the Shanghai Council of French concession in the early 1920s and named after Aitang, a former French consul in Shanghai. After Wang Jingwei took over the French concession in 1943, it was renamed yuqinglu.

Historical evolution
Yuqing Road, formerly known as route Edan, was built by the Shanghai Council of French concession in the early 1920s and named after Aitang, a former French consul in Shanghai. After Wang Jingwei took over the French concession in 1943, it was renamed yuqinglu. It is one of the 64 streets that will never be widened in Shanghai.
Yuqing road is a famous residential area in Shanghai, such as No. 190. Aitang compound at the intersection of Yuqing road and Kangping road is the seat of Shanghai Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China and the place where the Kangping road incident happened in 1966.
