Meimeiba
Meimeiba, Xiaoshan District, Hangzhou City, is located by Qiantang River in the north of meimeishan, Xiaoshan District, Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province. It is a T-shaped dam that goes straight into the river from south to north. It is one of the holy places to watch the spring tide of Qiantang River. On the South Bank of Qiantang River, Zheshan meimeimeiba in Nanyang of Xiaoshan and Yanguan town in Haining City are the best scenic spots to watch Qianjiang tide. In meimeimeiba, the main view is "turning tide". "Turning tide" refers to the tide which is rapidly advancing and formed after encountering groins and other artificial obstacles. The turning tide seen at meimeiba is also called "meimeier turning tide".
origin
Zheshan Bay, located in Nanyang, Xiaoshan, on the South Bank of Qianjiang River, is a large river bay concave to the south at the mouth of Qiantang River. Here, there is a 500 meter long "Meimei dam (T-shaped dam)" straight into the middle of the river, just like a giant arm to turn the tide. When the tide flows westward to this point, the whole line and the dike form an acute angle. The tide head within the dam head forms a right triangle with the dam body and the dike. The two ends of the tide head line are blocked, and they press toward the right angle vertex along the dam body and the dike respectively. Finally, they roar at the dam root. The waves, like a sudden lion, turn into a water column and rush straight into the sky, with a height of more than ten meters. Due to the barrier of the Hengjiang river of the dam, the vertical tide turns back again, forming a strange turning tide of "rolling up sand like snow". At this time, the river comes and flows back, rolling up and down, and galloping endlessly.
In the Zheshan meimeimeiba dam in Nanyang, there will be not only turning back tide, but also "surge", which is a special tide at the intersection of dike and dam. It is the most attractive one among the close-up tides. The tide is like being caught in a net. At the corner where the dikes and dams intersect, the tide makes a loud crash, and the tide heads straight into the sky. Up into a water column, two or three meters low, up to more than ten meters high. Tan Jicong of Qing Dynasty wrote the poem "Zheshan tide is coming from heaven, defending the destruction of dongshidun in seawall." This is the name of skyrocketing tide.
legend
It is said that the little princess of Qianjiang Dragon King was playing in Meimei mountain, and fell in love with Yulang at first sight. The little princess decided to marry Yulang for life, which angered the Dragon King. The Dragon King decided to submerge the dock. The princess and Yulang decided to jump into the river to die for their love. I didn't expect that they were safe after jumping into the river. They stepped on the pumice of Zheshan mountain, covered with thousands of rays, and floated from the opposite bank to the direction of the dock. Later generations built a dam to block the river where they landed, and named it "Meimei dam".
