Development history
Among the mountains beside the beautiful Xizi Lake in Hangzhou, there is a Shifeng mountain, with verdant trees, green tea gardens, winding streams, murmuring water, shrouded clouds, deep soil layer and mild climate. The unique ecological environment breeds the world-renowned "four unique" tea, Shifeng Longjing tea. In front of Hugong temple at the foot of Shifeng mountain, there are eighteen Royal teas surrounded by railings. Under the careful cultivation of local tea farmers, they grow luxuriantly and attract many tourists every year.
Speaking of these 18 Royal teas, there is also a beautiful legend. It is said that during the reign of Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty, the country was prosperous and the people were peaceful. Emperor Qianlong did not like to sit in the palace, but preferred to travel around the world. Once, he came to Hangzhou. After enjoying the scenery of the West Lake, he wanted to see his favorite tea. Qianlong and the eunuch said that they were too busy for the local officials and the old monks of Hugong temple, because according to the arrangement, Qianlong had to take a rest and drink tea in the temple.
The next day, Qianlong and his followers toured Shifeng mountain. Along the way, the towering Lion Peak, the clear Longjing spring, the green tea garden, the village girls with tea baskets on their shoulders, busy picking tea in the garden, the trees and the roadsides are full of flowers and birds. Qianlong was deeply intoxicated by the natural scenery. He wandered in the mountains for a long time, and was urged by the eunuch to come to the Hugong temple. The old monk respectfully offered the best tea. Qianlong looked at the cup of tea. The soup was green, and the buds were upright and lifelike. It was very beautiful. After sipping it, he only felt the fragrance, the aftertaste was sweet, and his teeth were fragrant. He asked the monk, "what's the name of this tea? How to plant it?" the monk said, "this is the treasure of West Lake Longjing tea - Shifeng Longjing, which was picked from the tea garden on Shifeng mountain It's made by frying tender buds. " Then he accompanied Qianlong to watch the tea picking and processing. Qianlong was moved by the labor and skill of Longjing tea picking and processing. He once wrote a tea song praising: "there are times of slow frying and fine roasting, but there are many hard works."
When Qianlong returned to the temple, he saw more than ten tea trees in front of the temple. They sprouted at the same time, and their tongue began to unfold. With joy in his heart, he rolled up his sleeves and learned to pick tea from the village girls. When he was very interested, a eunuch suddenly reported: "the Empress Dowager is ill, please return to Beijing quickly." As soon as Qianlong was worried, he put the tea buds into his sleeve pocket and went back to the capital. A few days later, when I returned to the palace, I saw the Empress Dowager sitting by her bed and went to the palace to say hello. The Empress Dowager was not seriously ill, but after eating too much delicacies, her liver fire rose and her eyes became red and swollen. Now she was happy to see the emperor return to court, and she was a little sick. So she asked about the emperor's situation outside and talked about it. The Empress Dowager smelled that there were bursts of fragrance coming to her face, and asked Qianlong, "what good things did the emperor bring from Hangzhou? Such fragrance?" Qianlong thought, I rushed back in a hurry, but I forgot to bring some gifts to honor my mother. However, after a careful smell, there was a kind of fragrance. He touched it with his hand and remembered that it was a handful of tea picked by Shifeng. A few days later, it had dried up. While taking out the tea, he replied: "mother, this is the Shifeng mountain Longjing tea I picked myself." "Oh, this tea is really fragrant. My mouth is tasteless these days. I'll have a taste of it." Qianlong asked the palace maids to make a cup. The Empress Dowager took the fragrant tea and drank it slowly. It's strange to say that the Empress Dowager felt very comfortable after drinking the tea. As a matter of fact, the tea is of good quality, delicious and easy to eat. Secondly, it is pleasant to see the emperor. In addition, the tea is picked by the Emperor himself. After drinking it for several days, the anger calmed down, the red eye subsided, and the stomach became more comfortable. The Empress Dowager told the emperor happily: "son, it's immortal tea. It's like a panacea. It's a cure for my mother's disease." After hearing this, Qianlong burst out laughing and went on to pass on the decree. He appointed the tea tree in front of Hugong temple as the imperial tea tree, and sent special personnel to take care of it. Every year, it was collected and sent to Beijing for the Empress Dowager to enjoy. Because there are only 18 tea trees in front of Hugong temple, it has been called "18 royal tea trees" since then
Development of tea industry
Xihu Longjing tea ranks first among the top ten famous teas in China. It has a history of more than 1200 years and is known as the "Queen of green tea". As early as in the Panama International Exposition in 1915, West Lake Longjing tea won a special gold medal, known as "national tea".
West Lake Longjing tea is picked in March and April every year. It is made by professional tea roaster through ten processes. The roasted tea is selected and graded to form the final product.
Restricted by the place of origin, the place of origin of West Lake Longjing is about 20000 mu, while the first-class nature reserve is about 67000 mu. In terms of origin, Longjing tea is only produced in Zhejiang, while Longjing tea is mainly produced in Shifeng, Longjing, wuyunshan and Hupao areas around the West Lake.
According to the geographical distribution, the West Lake Longjing is divided into five mountain series: Lion, dragon, cloud, tiger and plum. In addition, the unique processing technique determines that the West Lake Longjing is a unique product with scarcity.
From a nationwide perspective, the blooming Longjing shops are extremely inconsistent with the scarcity of West Lake Longjing, and the phenomenon of shoddy and shoddy is serious. How to solve this problem requires tea enterprises in the long-term operation, in addition to strictly guarantee the quality of their own tea industry, they should also pay attention to the operation and management of Longjing shops and teahouses, instead of only one-sided pursuit of economic benefits and damage the brand image of West Lake Longjing.
