Hailuogou National Forest Park is located in Luding County, Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Region, Sichuan Province. It is one of the only low altitude glaciers in the world. Basic introduction

Hailuogou Glacier Forest Park is located in Luding County, Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Region, Sichuan Province, 319km away from Chengdu and 59km away from Kangding. It is one of the only low altitude glaciers in the world.

Hailuogou Glacier is one of the many glaciers on the east slope of Gongga mountain. Its tail extends into the primeval forest area for 6 kilometers, with an altitude of only 2850 meters, which is the lowest in the same latitude glaciers on the earth. The granular snow basin of glacier is the source of the whole glacier. When the ice and snow in the basin accumulate to a certain extent, it will cross over the edge of the basin and form a huge avalanche. Therefore, although the granular snow basin is beautiful and mysterious, it can only be viewed from a distance. At the edge of the basin is the largest known ice waterfall in China, 1080 meters high and 500-1100 meters wide, crystal clear and magnificent.

The glaciers in China are mainly continental glaciers and marine glaciers. Hailuogou Glacier is not only the only marine glacier in China, but also the lowest and largest marine glacier in Asia.

At an altitude of 2850 meters, the 5700 meter long ice tongue licks the earth tightly.
