Sanchahekou
Sanchahekou is located in the northwest of Tianjin city, the north corner of the old city (now near Shizilin bridge). It is the intersection of Ziya River, South Canal (Wei) and North Canal (Lu). It is called the birthplace of Tianjin. It used to be the earliest residential area, the earliest flood and drought wharf, and the earliest commodity distribution center in Tianjin, so it has the reputation of "cradle of Tianjin".
The origin of history
"Tianjin Wei Zhi" records: "Sancha River in the northeast of Tianjin, Lu, Wei two water flow. Lu water clear, Wei water turbidity, confluence East note in the sea It is clearly recorded that the old sanchahekou is located in the northeast corner of the east of Tianjin city (near the Shizilin bridge today), and it is the intersection of Ziya River, South Canal (Lu) and North Canal (Wei). It used to be the earliest residential area, the earliest flood and drought wharf, and the earliest commodity distribution center in Tianjin, so it has the reputation of "cradle of Tianjin".
In 608, when Emperor Yang of the Sui Dynasty opened the Yongji canal of the Grand Canal, the sanchahekou had become an important shipping route, and gradually there were people who made a living by fishing and drying salt. In 1153, Jin moved to Zhongdu (now Beijing), the capital of China, and organized water transportation by using the rivers of Hebei plain. In 1214, Zhigu Village (also known as Nigu Village) was established. Before long, the settlements of Dazhigu, xiaozhigu and sanchagu appeared one after another.
In the Yuan Dynasty, Zhigu village was changed into Haijin Town, and sanchahekou became the only way for the southern grain fleet to transport by sea and water. For a time, there was a prosperous scene of "three forks in the morning, with ten thousand vessels gathered together", and there was also a record of "the flourishing of ten thousand merchants". In 1404, Zhu Di, the king of Yan, swept the north and named Tianjin. He also built a memorial archway at Zhigu Dubi (now beidaguan), with the banner of "Longfei Dubi". Because Tianjin got its name after sanchahekou, there is a saying in history that "first there are sanchahekou, then there is Tianjin city".
In the Qing Dynasty, with the further opening of the Beijing Hangzhou Grand Canal, the water transportation of Zhigu reached its peak. Sanchahekou also developed into the earliest commodity distribution center in Tianjin, and Tianjin also became a water transportation hub in northern China. New wharves, warehouses, shops and inns have sprung up on both sides of the south canal. Zhugan lane, Dahutong, beidaguan, Guodian street, Zhenshi street, houjiahou and other places have gradually become a cluster of merchants and shops, especially the houjiahou area, which has become a prosperous center of Commerce and entertainment in Tianjin.
From 1901 to 1923, Haihe River was straightened six times. The third "Catholic Church cutting" project in 1918 was carried out for Sancha estuary. After this cutting and straightening, the intersection of the three rivers moved northward and became the new Sancha estuary you see today.
Background
Tianjin is abbreviated as Jin, which means the place where the emperor passes through. It is also called Jingu, Jinmen, etc.
The formation of Tianjin settlement began with the opening of Beijing Hangzhou Grand Canal. At the intersection of the south canal and the North Canal, Gangqiao Sancha estuary, known as "Sanhui Haikou" in history, is the earliest birthplace of Tianjin. After the middle of the Tang Dynasty, Tianjin became a land and water wharf for transporting grain and silk from the south to the north. Zhigu village was set up in Zhigu in Jin Dynasty, and Haijin town was set up in Yuan Dynasty.
From the second year of Yongle in Ming Dynasty, 1404 to 2004, Tianjin has been built for 600 years.
In the second year of Jianwen of Ming Dynasty (1400), Zhu Di led his troops to the south of zhigudu River to seize power. In 1403, it was changed to Yongle. The name Tianjin appeared in the early years of Yongle. Tianjin, as an important military area, was officially set up in 1404, the second year of Yongle. In the next year, Tianjin left guard was set up, and in the next year, Tianjin right guard was added. In the ninth year of Shunzhi in the Qing Dynasty (1652), the three bodyguards were merged into Tianjin bodyguard.
After Tianjin was opened as a trading port in 1860, Western powers set up concessions in Tianjin one after another. Tianjin became the frontier of opening up in northern China and the base of modern China's "Westernization" movement. The military modernization started from Tianjin, and the construction of railway, telegraph, telephone, postal, mining, modern education, justice and so on, all set the precedent in China. Tianjin became the second largest industrial and commercial city in China at that time and the largest financial and Trade Center in the north.
After the founding of new China in 1949, Tianjin, as a municipality directly under the central government, has achieved all-round development in economic construction and social undertakings, further consolidating its position as an important comprehensive industrial base and Trade Center in China. Since the reform and opening up, Tianjin's port advantages have been continuously enhanced, and its foreign exchanges have been further expanded. In the new century, Tianjin has become a modern international port metropolis and an important economic center in northern China.
Return to prosperity
In 2008, the "eye of Tianjin", industrial museum, dike leisure area, E-mart supermarket and Jinling International waterfront residential area were built one after another in sanchahekou area, bringing a variety of business forms such as culture, leisure, entertainment, sightseeing, commerce and residence. The long silent sanchahekou finally reappears its prosperity.
Sanchahekou is the intersection of Ziya River, South Canal and North Canal, the starting point of Haihe River, the birthplace of Tianjin and the cradle of modern industrial and commercial development. In 2005, Tianjin began the development and transformation of the sanchahekou area. TEDA City, one of the six nodes of Haihe River, was officially built here. In 2008, with the settlement of culture, leisure, recreation, sightseeing, commerce, residence and other business forms, the long silent sanchahekou finally regained its prosperity.
