Liaoyang Branch of Shenyang University of technology was founded in 1978 as Liaoyang Chemical Fiber Engineering College. In June 1984, the school was under the management of the former China Petrochemical Corporation and renamed Liaoyang Petrochemical College. In May 1989, with the approval of the former China National Petroleum and Chemical Corporation, it was reported to the State Education Commission for the record, and the undergraduate enrollment was resumed. In October 2001, with the approval of the Ministry of education, the University was put under the management of Liaoning Province and incorporated into Shenyang University of technology as a whole to establish Liaoyang campus of Shenyang University of technology. School history

Liaoyang Chemical Fiber Engineering College

Liaoyang Branch of Shenyang University of technology was established in November 1978 as Liaoyang Chemical fiber Institute. It is a four-year full-time undergraduate college jointly established by Liaoning Province and the Ministry of textile industry of China.

In December 1982, the University changed its name to Liaoning chemical fiber light industry basic university, and changed to a three-year junior college system.

In June 1984, the school was under the management of the former China Petrochemical Corporation and renamed Liaoyang Petrochemical College.

In May 1989, the school cooperated with the former Fushun Institute of petroleum to resume undergraduate enrollment in the name of Fushun Institute of petroleum, and at the same time carried out two levels of Education: undergraduate and junior college.

In April 1993, the name of the college was changed to Liaoyang Petrochemical College in the unified specification of College name.

In October 2001, the school was under the management of Liaoning Province by SINOPEC.
