Chu Hsiu Palace
Located in the east of Xianfu palace and the north of Yikun palace, Chuxiu palace, one of the six palaces in the west of the Imperial Palace in Beijing, is a palace building built in the Ming Dynasty and the residence of Empresses of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Chuxiu palace is a single eaves hill top, with five wide faces and a corridor in front.
Under the eaves, Dougong and Liang Fang are decorated with Su style color paintings. The East and west side halls are Yanghe hall and Xunfu hall respectively, which are three rooms in width and built on a hard hilltop. The back hall of lijingxuan is five rooms wide, with single eaves on the top of the mountain. The East and west side halls are fengguangshi and Yilan hall respectively.
During the Xianfeng Period of the Qing Dynasty, empress xiaoqinxian (Empress Dowager Cixi) once lived in the back hall of Chuxiu Palace (now lijingxuan) after entering the palace, and gave birth to Tongzhi emperor. After abdication of the Qing Dynasty, Wanrong once lived here and integrated Western elements into the decoration. It is now on display during Cixi's 50th birthday in 1884.
In May 2018, the Palace Museum launched the lighting system of the Chuxiu palace.
Residents
Princess Ping
Princess Ping? (June 20, 1696), hesheri family, born in zhenghuang banner of Manchuria, concubine of Emperor Kangxi, sister of empress xiaochengren and granddaughter of Sonny, the four assistant ministers. She is the daughter of gabra, the minister in charge of the bodyguard.
In 1680, he entered the palace on October 15 of the 19th year of Kangxi and enjoyed the treatment of a noble man (about 10 years old). On the 29th of the first month of the 23rd year of Kangxi, he was promoted to imperial concubine by two levels. Ranking among the five imperial concubines, she was also one of the five imperial concubines in the early Kangxi period, which lasted for 12 years. The order of the five imperial concubines in the early Kangxi period was huifei, Yifei, Defei, Rongfei and Pingfei. She was not only the youngest, but also the youngest and the highest. He was born in the thirtieth year of Kangxi and died on June 20th, the 35th year of Kangxi. He was buried in the imperial palace of jingling in October.
Empress Xiaoyi
Empress Xiaoyi Chun (October 23, 1727 - February 28, 1775), Wei Jia's, empress Qianlong and the biological mother of emperor Jiaqing, was the daughter of Wei Qingtai.
In the 10th year of Qianlong, he was granted the title of Wei Guiren, and in the same year, Jin was granted the title of lingpin; in the 13th year of Qianlong, Jin was granted the title of Lingfei; in the 24th year of Qianlong, Jin was granted the title of Linggui; in the 25th year of Qianlong, Yongyan, the 15th son of emperor, was born to Emperor Jiaqing; in the 30th year of Qianlong, Jin was granted the title of Huanggui; in the winter of the 38th year of Qianlong, Yongyan, the 15th son of emperor, was secretly set up as a crown prince by Emperor Qianlong; on the 29th day of the 40th year of Qianlong Huang Guifei died of illness at the age of 49. On February 11, she was given the title of imperial concubine Yi. On October 26, the 40th year of Qianlong, she was buried in Yuling. On the third day of September in the 60th year of Emperor Qianlong, Emperor Qianlong declared Prince Yongyan, the 15th son of emperor Jia, to be the crown prince. At the same time, Emperor Yi's imperial concubine was appointed empress Xiaoyi. After Jiaqing and Daoguang dynasties, the posthumous title was added, and the full posthumous title was "filial piety, obedience, Kangyu, benevolence, wisdom, Tianyu, saint and pure Queen".
She lived in Chuxiu palace from being granted imperial concubine to dying.
Empress xiaohorui
Empress xiaoherui (November 20, 1776 - January 23, 1850), Niu Hulu's family, born in the yellow flag of Manchuria, the second empress of emperor Jiaqing, the daughter of gongala, the Minister of rites and the third class Duke of Chengen, belongs to the branch of Hongyi mansion.
The earliest was in the 54th year of Emperor Qianlong, and the latest was in the talent show of the 57th year of Emperor Qianlong. In the 58th year of the reign of Emperor Qianlong, she was born to the seventh daughter of the emperor. Miankai, the third son of Emperor Qianlong, was born in the 60th year of Emperor Qianlong. In the first year of Jiaqing, she was canonized as imperial concubine; in the second year of Jiaqing, she was canonized as imperial concubine; in the eighth volume of the first month of the sixth year of Jiaqing, she was named Queen. In February of the 10th year of Jiaqing, mianxin, the fourth son of the emperor, was born on the ninth day. In July of the 25th year of Jiaqing, she was honored as empress dowager. He died in Shoukang Palace on December 11, the 29th year of Daoguang. At the age of 74, he was buried in Changxi mausoleum, three li to the west of Changling mausoleum. The whole posthumous title said: filial piety and benevolence, Kang Yu'an, Cheng Qinshun, Ren Zhengying, empress Shengrui of Tianxi.
Empress Xiaoshencheng
Empress xiaoshencheng (July 5, 1792 - June 16, 1833), Tong Jia, born in the yellow flag of Manchuria, was the second empress of Emperor Daoguang and the daughter of Hou Shuming a, the first-class heir.
Tong Jia was born on May 17, 1792. Jiaqing thirteen years (1808) for the second a Ge Mianning, followed by Fujin. The eldest daughter of Mianning was born in 1813. In 1820, Emperor Jiaqing died. Mianning succeeded to the throne and changed his name to minning, the Emperor Daoguang. In November 1822, the second year of Daoguang reign, she was appointed queen and the eldest daughter was named Princess duanmin GuLun. He died on April 29, 1833, at the age of 42. In July, Emperor Daoguang was named empress Xiaoshen. In December 1835, Yichou was buried in longquanyu underground palace of Muling. The whole posthumous title said: filial piety, Shenmin, suzheshun, Yicheng, Huidun, Kexi, Tianyi, Shengcheng, empress.
Empress xiaoqinxian
Empress Dowager Cixi (November 29, 1835 - November 15, 1908) was empress xiaoqinxian, who was born in Manchuria with blue flag. Later, she was carried to the yellow flag. Yehenala was the concubine of emperor Xianfeng and the mother of emperor Tongzhi. He was an important political figure in the late Qing Dynasty and the actual ruler in the late Qing Dynasty.
He entered the palace in 1852 and was granted the title of "Lan GUI Ren" and "Yi Pin" in the next year; he was born in 1856, the eldest son of the emperor, Aixinjueluo Zaichun (emperor Tongzhi), and was granted the title of "Yi Princess" in the next year; after Emperor Xianfeng died in 1861, he and empress xiaozhenxian were honored together and named "Empress Dowager" and "Cixi".
Chuxiu palace is the most important palace in Cixi's life. It is worth considering that Cixi moved to Chuxiu Palace on her 50th birthday. According to the conjecture of he rong'er, the palace maid of Empress Dowager Cixi's near servant in palace maid Tan Xiang Lu, firstly, Cixi made her fortune here, and her only political capital Tongzhi emperor was born in the back hall of Chuxiu palace, which is the real political capital to seize power. Second, Cixi entered the palace at the age of 17. Her youth is buried here, and there are memories everywhere. Third, the sentimental attachment to Emperor Xianfeng never forgets the former Emperor's kindness to himself.
Chuxiu palace is the most exquisite of the six palaces in the West. In the courtyard of Chuxiu palace, there are two vigorous ancient cypresses; under the platform, there are a pair of bronze dragons and a pair of bronze deer (Chuxiu palace is the only palace with bronze dragons in the six palaces). The oil decoration of the outer eaves of the palace adopts the "Su style color painting" with light and elegant color, and the themes include flowers, birds, fish and insects, landscape figures and fairy stories; the doors and windows are all carved with "Wanfu Wanshou" and "Wufu Pengshou" patterns made of fine quality nanmu.
Princess Zhuang Jing
The imperial concubine of Zhuang Jing (1837-1890) was born in the red flag of the Manchu army. She was the daughter of Qinghai. Xianfeng emperor's concubines, Xianfeng two year draft women into the palace, the first title "Li Gui Ren.". In December of the fourth year of Xianfeng, Li pin was granted an imperial edict. In May of the fifth year, she gave birth to the eldest daughter of the emperor. In December, Li Fei was canonized. In October of the 11th year of Xianfeng, Mu Zong Jin was honored as the imperial concubine of huangkaoli. In November of the 13th year of Tongzhi reign, Jin Dynasty was again called the imperial concubine. In the 16th year of the reign of Emperor Guangxu, Gengyin died on November 15, when he was 50 years old, and his posthumous title was imperial concubine Zhuang Jing. On April 18, the 19th year of the reign of Emperor Guangxu. Buried in Dingling imperial palace.
Empress Xiaozhe Yi
Empress xiaozheyi (July 25, 1854-march 27, 1875), the aLute family, empress Tongzhi of emperor Mu Zong of the Qing Dynasty, a native of Zhenglan Banner of Mongolia (later carrying the flag into Manchuria to set yellow flag because of being granted the title), the third empress of the Qing Dynasty who was carried into the Forbidden City from the gate of the Qing Dynasty, the granddaughter of saishang'a, a bachelor, and the granddaughter of Duanhua, the eighth Minister of Gu Ming Luther's grandfather, the daughter of Chongqi, the third class Minister of Chengen, the aunt and niece of empress xiaozhenxian (Empress Dowager Ci'an), and the niece of Princess Gongsu.
Guo bro · Wan Rong
Guo Buluo, Wanrong (November 13, 1906 - June 20, 1946), was a native of the Zhengbai banner in Manchuria. The wife of emperor Puyi of the Qing Dynasty, the last empress of the Qing Dynasty and China, and later the empress of the puppet Manchuria.
Renovation record
In 1884, when Empress Dowager Cixi rebuilt the Chuxiu Palace on her 50th birthday, the tuxiu gate and the tihe Hall of Yikun palace were changed into a hall, and the East and West ear rooms of tihe hall were changed into a passageway, so that the Chuxiu palace and Yikun palace could be connected. After closing the gate, the two palaces could still be a separate courtyard. Tihe hall also became Empress Dowager Cixi's dining room and outer study.
In 1922, guobuluo Wanrong, Queen of Xuantong emperor who had abdicated, entered the palace and then lived in the palace. She integrated Western elements into the Palace during the Cixi era, and transformed the back hall lijingxuan into a western restaurant with luxury crystal chandeliers and Western pianos. (the main hall of Chuxiu palace is the original display of Empress Dowager Cixi's 50th birthday, while lijingxuan and other auxiliary halls are the life exhibition of the last emperor.)

Written narration
There are a pair of bronze dragons and a pair of bronze deer in the East and west of the platform outside the Chuxiu palace, which is the only special case of the dragon in the six East and West palaces of the Forbidden City. The wall of the corridor is engraved with eulogy written in regular script by ministers. The whole courtyard was decorated with a solemn and simple style. The interior decoration of Chuxiu palace is exquisite and gorgeous. The back of the main room is the glass back with carved pattern of Phoebe. A platform is set in front of the cover, and red sandalwood carving inlays are placed on the platform
