Yiyun Pavilion

The Yiyun Pavilion is behind the Yulan hall in the summer palace. It was built in the reign of Emperor Qianlong of Qing Dynasty (1736-1795) and rebuilt in the reign of Emperor Guangxu of Qing Dynasty (1875-1908). It is the residence of Emperor Guangxu's Longyu queen in the garden.

The gate of the courtyard is a vertical flower gate with the title of Yiyun gate. All the furniture in the hall are treasures, inlaid with gems and bamboo silk, and the pictures are made. The east room is called cunzhai, while the west room is near Xixuan. There are 10 stone inscriptions embedded in the inner corridor wall of Yiyun gate, which were copied by Emperor Qianlong. They were originally stored in Huishan garden and were rebuilt here.

Located in the north of Yulan hall where Emperor Guangxu lived, it is adjacent to Dehe garden in the East and Leshou hall where Cixi lived in the West. At the end of the Qing Dynasty, it was the residence of empress Longyu, Guangxu's wife. The main hall of this compound is composed of the first five rooms and the last three rooms. There are eight rooms in total. There are doors in the front and the back. The room is spacious and has exquisite floor carved partition fans. The layout is elegant and rich. There are five East and five west side halls, both with front and rear doors. On the south wall of the courtyard, there are more than ten stone carvings of "sanxitang" calligraphy copied by Qianlong.

Yiyun pavilion was built in Qianlong period, burned down in 1860 and rebuilt in Guangxu period. "Continuation of the museum records:" rutin paper fish beetle, so the library called Yuntai Yun is a kind of herb, which can prevent moths in books. Yiyun library used to be a collection place, so it has this name.

According to the court system, the emperor and the queen did not live in the same room. When Guangxu chose the empress, he didn't care for Longyu, but was forced to marry by Cixi. Longyu is young and talented, and her appearance is very common. Guangxu and her feelings are not harmonious. Guangxu is Cixi's nephew, while Longyu is Cixi's niece. During the conflict between Guangxu and Cixi, Longyu followed Cixi closely. When Guangxu was imprisoned, Longyu was still free to be queen. Guangxu died in October 1908, and Cixi died the next day. Before Cixi's death, Puyi, the son of Prince Chun zaifeng, was appointed to succeed him. Longyu became empress dowager. Three years later, the "revolution of 1911" succeeded, and Longyu issued the abdication edict, which ended the rule of the Qing Dynasty for more than 200 years and the feudal dynasty of China. Two years later, Longyu died at the age of 46.

The furnishings of Yiyun Pavilion in Qianlong Qingyi Garden were quite elegant. The layout of the Yiyun museum is as follows: in the center of the room, there is a throne, a ground level, five screens on the back; in the south of the floor cover, there are Nanbai box bed, incense table, book case, top cabinet, embroidered pier, case, hanging screen, insert screen mirror, self ringing bell, etc. Several, the case placed books, jade version. There are niches in the East chamber for bronze and jade Buddha statues and sutras. There are incense burner, incense plate and huanmen banner in front. There are Nanbai wooden box bed, incense table, desk, Ruyi chair, table, piano table, crown frame, top cabinet, plug screen, hanging screen, calligraphy and painting, etc.

At the time of Guangxu Summer Palace, Yiyun hall, as the palace of the empress Guangxu, had a great change in the layout of its furnishings due to the different architectural functions and the identity of the host. Among them, the throne of empress Guangxu uses the rare "Baibao inlay" craft, which is small and exquisite, and extremely rich. From 1932 to 1958, the house in the hospital was rented and the furnishings were stored. In 1979, after the repair of the ancient building, only furniture was displayed in the interior. In 1992, more than 100 cultural relics were displayed in the whole group according to the furnishing archives of Qingyi Garden.
